Was a huge controversy. Because any taxi you see in the airport need to have a permit to have the right to pick up people in the airport (not all taxis have that permit), to have the airport permit that can cost you once more than 100k€. If you pick a ppl in the street to take them in airport you can go there without problems, but you cant pick nobody in 2km of the airport without the airport permit. If you pick somebody inside that range, you can have a HUGE fine more than 10k€. The taxi drivers with that permit threat to sue the city to have their money back because the UBER was pick up people to the airport without paying that permit. That permit is in your name, that's why you see sometimes old men working there, because if they retire the city going to sell their permit to anybody (taxi drive) that want the permit. This is a lot of money to Lisbon city. They manage to reach a deal no one can pick up in the airport, at least 2 kms from there. Any taxi (without the airport permit) can drop a person and because of that Uber can drop people in the airport gate the same way. Sorry my english

Hi Joric, I just flew in and I think they changed this again. We were picked up right outside of T1 Departures which was 1 of 2 options when choosing a pickup point.

Oh boy. That is where the original pick up was for years, as well as the drop off if you use them to get back to the airport. Then, last summer, they changed the location to parking lot 8. Thanks so much for this update. I may have to get another video out there!

Why is it people can not do something so simple in videos. If you are showing directions at an Airport, then show the signs that people should be looking for. Example... when you're coming out of the baggage area... there's a BIG sign with directions..... WELL, SHOW IT so we know what you are doing and why you're going in a specific direction. Show ALL the other signs people should be looking for.

Its me again haha Whats the update with this 3 day travel ban? I saw on the news. We're thinking it might just not work out this time. Should we wait until thing settle down a bit?

Your guess is as good as mine. You can still come to Lisbon and get to Sintra, but over the 3 days you can't do Algarve or Porto. I think it lifts tomorrow. There is no rhyme or reason to what changes on a weekly basis. Might be worth waiting a couple more weeks??? I wish I had a better answer.

@@teresanguyen8423 Yes, the only thing is restaurants and bar require a negative Covid test or a vaccination document in order to enter from 7pm Fri through Sunday night. If the place has outdoor seating, and you sit outside, there will be no issues.

Whats the pricing like? We are debating getting a rental car for day trips to Sintra, Lagos, or Porto. We only hav 5 days so we arent sure if we should rent a car or do uber and public transit. My partner works for enterprise so he gets a great deal. We're wondering if buses, trains, and uber would actually wind up being more expensive. What do you think?

Uber is going to be 30 to 50 euros, Taxi is going to be about the same, or more, depending on where they drop you off. Train from Rossio Station to Sintra Station and back is best option in my opinion, which was 5.50 euros round trip for us a few months ago. I think they have trains that depart every 15 minutes or 30 minutes to Sintra.

Since making that video, Uber went back to using their original location, which is right outside the departures terminal entrance. Yes, several people will be able to tell you where to get the Uber.
