I know the vast majority say that either _Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, Howl’s moving Castle, Castle in the Sky_ or _My Neighbor Totoro_ was their first Ghibli/Hayao Miyazaki film they watched and their all time favorite film, for me it was _Kiki’s Delivery Service_ and this film is not only one of favorites but my very first Studio Ghibli/Hayao Miyazaki film I watched as a Kid. I’m very excited to see this in theaters.

Thanks to Ghibli fest 2024 I just watched this film for the first time, which also makes it the first Ghibli film i've ever seen. It was great to have my first experience in the theater.

@@JohnnyFish971 They started using OpenToonz for newer films but all of their frames, both key and inbetweening is hand drawn, only digital intervention is some CG here and there used to enhance the story and 2D look.

I actually saw this movie for the very first time last month! I remember seeing the trailer for this movie on Disney VHS tapes as a kid, but I never got around to watching until last month on Max. Needless to say, I really enjoyed it! This movie has aged insanely well! I was especially impressed by the film’s flying sequences. They’re so breathtaking, especially for that era of animation, where everything was still being inked and painted on cels! 🤯
