One of my all-time favorite Ghibli movies. I used to consider it Ghibli's hidden masterpiece, but it feels like more and more people keep discovering it every year. Definitely see it on the big screen if you can, especially if you still haven't seen it yet; you'll be in for a wonderful experience.

So glad people appreciate this movie now. It seemed growing up people preferred Cat Returns over it but personally I liked this movie more. Also like how the two main characters in the dub are Riku and Naminé from Kingdom Hearts

This was my favorite Ghbli movie and I was so obsessed with it when I was in highschool. I'm turning 40 this week. I'm going to watch this with my son who wants to be a writer like Shizuku. I think I'm gonna cry tomorrow!!!

This is probably my second favorite Ghibli movie for over 20 years now, tied with Laputa based on the mood I‘m in. Everyone I‘ve showed this to was skeptical at first when they got warned by me that it had no fantastical elements since it‘s a „simple“ coming-of-age story and every single one ended up falling in love with it. What a wonderful story brought to life beautifully! ❤️

People often overlook *Whisper of the Heart* and *Only Yesterday* because they aren't directed by Miyazaki. It might be a hot take, but these two movies are underrated and underappreciated. I think they're better than some Miyazaki films like *Ponyo* and Totoro. The ending sequence of Only Yesterday is pure gold.
