This song has such a cool, hypnotic vibe. I appreciate you doing older Ghost songs bc I love them all. You're exactly right about the meaning of the lyrics, very insightful. Great reaction as always & please continue with more Ghost!

Good one guys.. I love that you touch upon some of the older stuff. This is from the second album, "Infestissumam", released in 2013. The title is Latin for "most hostile". Being the second album it represented a development of the raw and somewhat simpler sound of the first album. The sound.. the instruments.. the nameless ghouls.. the recording studio.. everything evolved. In hindsight it was the necessary step on the way to everything Tobias and Ghost is today. But as you say, even if the sound is simpler, it's still recognizable as Ghost. The tongue in cheek as well as the lyrical double meanings are there. An easily recognizable detail in what has become a trademark of Tobias' masterclass songwriting. Tobias has never been a devoted fan of religion in general, or even the catholic church in particular.. The song displays the obscure and even obscene ritual of eating the bread and drinking the wine that Catholics literally believes turns into the body and blood of christ. Funfact: Back in the day, when Ghost were touring, going to a new city for a ritual (Ghost concerts are called rituals) they got local women signed up to take part in the act. When the band was going to perform "Body and Blood", these women came on stage dressed as nuns. Bringing prune juice and crackers, they performed communion and served the front row of people while the band played the song. The nuns were always called "the sisters of sin" by Tobias. The next city on the tour list then had another set of nuns.. Sometime in 2017 they stopped performing "Body and Blood", so the procedure of hiring concert locally based women simply stopped.. (And.. now.. drinking from the same cup as 10 others standing beside you at a concert, was never a very good idea with a pandemic raging on later) But.. more and more female fans are now dressing like nuns when they go to concerts, and thus have inherited the name, "Sisters of Sin". As you could see from the audience in the "Mary On A Cross" live video from Tampa you reacted to before. 🙂 Until next one... If you have Ghost, you have everything.. 🤘 Edit: Another thing well worth mentioning.. The backdrop images on stage and screen graphics like the one you are looking at in this video are actually made by an extremely talented graphical artist named Zbigniew M. Bielak. He does graphics for a lot of bands, including Ghost. He also designed the album cover for for their latest album "Impera". The special thing about him is that he hand draws everything. Thank you for this. Now that you're in the realms of earlier Ghost, I'd love to hear you hear *'Monstrance Clock'.* It is incredibly hypnotic, and was used as a show closer right up to about 2017, and occasionally after... It's almost a religious experience, and creepy at the same time. Best to do an actual live version to get the feels. I dare you not to get goosebumps. There's a great very early performance at daytime in 2014 featuring Papa II. There's an even better one from Hellfest 2016 with Papa III (amazing the transformation between II and III) and a supporting cast of kids, and the Sisters of Sin. He did it a few times as Copia.
