Chef John. I love your recipes, I love your calm presentation. But most of all I ❤️ love your humor. Yes, I recently received tragic news and for the length of this video, I laughed and forgot my grief.

"Terrifyingly easy" "I will haunt your dreams." ""Hold on, let me check my notes." "Note to self: five years from now do the exact same video, except call it 'Albino Bird Brownies' " "So why do we do it? Human nature: oh yeah, that's what separates us from the ghosts." "Or torn into pieces and then eaten." "You know: for the kids...allegedly." - you crack me up, Chef! Happy Halloween!

I made them yesterday for Halloween! They can put great. I mixed the extra cheesecake stuff into the brownie batter, which worked well because it was a bit stiff. I put the cheesecake batter in a snack baggies and cut off a decent tip, and the little bit of chocolate batter into another snack baggies and cut off a teeny tip, then smoothed with a skewer. Yes, a bit fiddly, but very worth it and they tasted great!

I first thought this said "Goat Cheesecake Brownies" and I was all for it! Oddly enough, goat cheese in cheesecake is AMAZING. There are recipes online. I need to make it instead of just remembering how awesome it was.

I immediately went and made these after I saw this recipe! They turned out amazing! I ended up using tofu cream cheese for mine because I can't have cream cheese, that they still turned out just as good and it worked without me having to make any other replacements in the recipe

Hi chef! Just wanted to say thank you for your amazing videos. I started watching when I was 10-11 years old and had to cook many meals by myself as my parents were always at work. I took post-secondary culinary classes in highschool and eventually graduated at Johnson and Wales University with a double major in Culinary Arts and Baking and Pastry Arts. I own a cafe and bakery now in my home town. I had many influences in my life, but this channel is definitely up there in my biggest influences. Anyway, thank you Chef!

Chef John always brings it with the Halloween recipes. They offer a nod to the theme without requiring overly fussy decorating, and the flavor remains first and foremost.

Chef, I used Eye of Newt and these turned out, how do you say, kind of aquatic? Also, a giant salamander is haunting me at night so I definitely recommend the substitution of vanilla extract.

You know Chef John, I think these really looked spooky Halloween creepy and ominous! Yet delicious looking enough for me to tempt the ghosts and snatch one from them! Ooooooh, scary and yummy. Doesn't get better than that in my book. BTW, I've been watching you since the beginning, and you never disappoint. Best regards to you and yours.

I made these yesterday and they are sooo good! I used 8x12 inch pan so I did 1.5 times the amount of all ingredients except sugar for chocolate batter but didn't increase the amount for cheese batter. Still had a bit too much cheesecake batter lol my ghosts were very plump. Also I think I might have had to do 2x instead of 1.5x as my brownies were a bit thinner than I expected.

There is a clear vanilla flavor that you might want to get for when you want to make very white icing. It is a subtle difference but I can always tell when I've used brown extract as opposed to the clear.

These ghosts are so cute! I've seen a ghost before. I was 2-3 and it was like a black shadow with glowing white eyes, as if the inside of the ghost was made out of light. But the light was gentle, not harsh, and the shadow part was darker than any shadow I have ever seen. It didn't feel threatening or scary, it felt like it was looking over me.
