Sucker Punch delivered one of the best open worlds of the last generation with Ghost of Tsushima, and Jin Sakai’s tale of revenge and redemption is one that fans are unlikely to forget months and years after rolling the credits. The game has finally made its way to the PC platform, courtesy of PlayStation’s in-house porter Nixxes Software.

The fact that everybody is going crazy about finally receiving a decent PC port for 60$ says a lot about today's gaming scene... They gave us a 4 year old game that includes all the DLCs and bonuses so far, and they made sure that it works properly. Shouldn't that be THE LEAST you can give someone for that money? I’d argue it’s more of a Sony issue then an industry wide issue. The vast majority of pc ports come out working just fine and we never hear a thing about them. Almost all the major complaints about bad ports in the past few years have been almost exclusively Sony games.

PC elitist here.... I was very hesitant on this game. Most PC ports are trash and kinda figured this was no different.....Oh boy was I totally wrong. This has to be the most beautiful and responsive port I have ever played. Controls are spot on,even when using KB/M. The visuals are absolutely amazing.....Im running this baby in 4k,high settings,and Im completely in awe at the beauty. One of the most impressive ports in the last 5 years for sure. The game, as the other PSN games, are greatly ported. Runs smooth and looks beautiful, all settings at the highest at 1440p here, with +200 fps at all times. Only bug I've had is in standoffs, where a few times it wouldn't react to the hold, other than that it runs perfectly. Great games like this, reminds me what I love about gaming. (though, I do wish I could skip cutscenes).

Yeah this is a known issue in recent ports, there's another game from Sony exclusive Horizon Forbidden west wherein, textures are somehow better in PS5 but might have changed by now. They will probably resolve this issue in this game.

It's always like that, I'm not sure why. YT compression? I'm currently playing it on a 4090 after playing it on a PS5. Unfortunately as it goes with a lot of comparisons, you would have to see it with your own eyes or no one is really going to show you. Whether that's intentional or not, I have no idea. Many use pretty heavy upscaling on PC when doing comparisons to PS5 as well. I also noticed the brightness looked pretty high on the PC version (HDR settings not right?) in the beginning scene that I didn't see like that at all when I started playing. So everyone simply has and uses different settings and configs on PC which may not represent a real comparison and leaves PC usually looking watered down.

RTX 2060 running at 125-130 fps on Very High 1080p Settings with DLSS Quality + FSR Frame Generation. The only place I noticed that drops very low to 60-70 fps is the hot spring area. DLSS Quality without FSR Frame Generation in the hot spring area is 35-40 fps, that place I don't want to go back again. LOL It traumatized my RTX 2060, I always avoid games and places that hurts my GPU.

Subjectively, I find it troubling you are using dynamic resolution scaling in a graphics comparison, but it's your video. I've also had weird artifacts with XeGTAO so I use SSAO Quality or HBAO+, it looks better overall. That being said my 5800X3D + RX6800 is getting entering high refresh rate territory at 1440p Native. And with FS3 Quality at 4K, it looks really great, over 60fps all settings cranked Except very high shadows instead of ultra. Ultra shadows on this game are very demanding and very high looks super crisp anyways. -ALSO, Native FSR Anti-Aliasing is really crisp and WAY better than TAA in this game.- Great port. Lot's of options giving current/future hardware room to stretch its legs a bit, and overall it's a great game with an amazing story. The styling is FU( |(ING GORGEOUS. Damn! This game proves you don't need ray tracing to achieve amazing lighting and shadows. Art styling is impeccable. Bought it day one, no regrets.

so some things to consider for people who can't tell the difference, youtube is compressed video, pc will most likely get a graphical patch, some things do look better like grass is clearly sharper, and keep in mind that while ps5 runs this at a (still respectable) 60fps, pc is pushing 100+. Both look great though, but there's just no point in trying to argue for the ps5 when pc objectively has far superior hardware.

I ran max settings without DLSS on 4080, I7 13700k was getting a consistent 110 on a 34inc ultra wide OLED monitor without any problem. My main problem was that I have a Xbox elite controller not ps5, so I had some limitations on gameplay.

My 5800x3d/3080TI/5440x1440 does a good job. FSR gets me to my desired framerate of 120hz but it has huge dips down to 3fps and locks the game up. Playing with it off at very high with some ultra and targeting 90ish frames with DSR set to 120.

Yes, there are some setting you can change that break the config and only restarting can fix it. Usually anything related to AA or DLAA will reliably break it.

There's a village in act 2 with a singing shaman along the cost on the left side of the island, you'll be locked into iki island tho until you finish a certain quest.

@AidenCaldwell I'm telling you it would be a big factor. You can see it's not as clear even on KZbin. But when you can run this thing native it's gonna look different or if you run dlss. The game on ps5 looks good and even if they did little changes to the graphics.Sony won't want the pc version to shine too much cus it will put the ps5 too shame with ray tracing etc. But having said that the resolution clarity is enough for it to be way better. Even hardcore ps fans like Marlonnationgaming was freaking out at it and guys like Lucas where in awe of spiderman on pc.

You can't ever tell on YT comparison videos. It depends on what settings they are using and their HDR configuration. It looked overly bright on the PC side in this vid than what I seen on PC. TV settings, or a different TV being used would be another consideration. Use of upscaling (upscaled 4k is considered native 4k to many today). I have played on both, PS5 where I finished the game, and now started playing on a 4090 at native 4k DLAA and its a stunning difference that I can't at all see in this video. The PC side of this video kind of looks like brightness is up to much or the HDR settings are wrong (its complicated on PC to dial your HDR down). KZbin video compressions or is this intentional? idk. So easy to manipulate people with these vids though since most can't see for themselves.

Why would you even compare the performance version of the ps5? what's the point? The game literally runs locked 60 fps on ps5 at 2160p, it's been confirmed by the digital foundry guys and all the people who reviewed the ps5 upgrades either way. The game is absolutely not worth the buy on pc in any way shape or form if you have the ps5 version already, there's literally no point of it, the only difference is slightly better ambient occlusion and character model poly count, but what the video doesn't even bother to mention is that one of them runs native 4k while the other needs frame gen and dlss to even run at 4k and over the 60 frame count. And so some might come up with this argument "So what, it still looks better on pc" well, it really won't look "better" on pc as long as you have denozing problems from the shitty dlss implementation and not to mention that on a 5600x and a 3060 ti, this game can barely run 70 frames at max settings on 1440p with dlls on quality and amd implemented frame gen, there is literally no reason in this world to buy this crap on pc if you already have the ps5 version at all sadly.

Nobody bought a PC just to play this game or any other PlayStation game. They already have a PC. PS games coming to PC is just a convenience that PC gamers don’t mind waiting for. They simply have to buy the game and they save $500 by not buying a PS5. And yes, it loads 1 whole second faster on PS5. What ever will we do without that one second? I don’t think we’ll live. Lastly, the PS5 is already outdated and new games only run at 30fps or at 960p-1080p if you want 60fps. You’re gonna have to spend another $500-$700 to buy a PS5 pro if you want to keep up. And in that case, PC gamers save $1,000-$1,200 every generation by not buying a console. Use your think box a little harder and stop being so toxic, ignorant and immature.

fyi, ghost of Tsushima is a PS4 game first and looks just as beautiful, it came to PS5 later
