the problem in video games doesn't come from the game testing, but more from the fixing side. it costs a lot of time, and studios have deadlines, so they are required make some priority for the worst ones and maybe later in a patch the little ones will be fixed (that's why i don't buy big games D1)

AAA games are so set in their ways that you have to play them exactly as the developers intended. As soon as you start goofing around it all falls apart completely because the AI and all the scripts are totally inflexible and work only one way. Which is why the hype trailers and pre-prepared gameplay footage and the actual user experience can vary so much. The games cannot cope with creativity because they themselves are not creative, they are products.

It's just very hard to create a world of interacting systems that account for every situation that millions of players can throw at them, and that the game can generate. The best way to accomplish this is to limit how your systems can interact. For example Breath of the Wild's enemies are pretty dumb, so there's not a lot of "buggy scenarios" you can put them in. This way, the game can respond in pretty much the way a player would expect it to in most situations
