We probably could still learn of Jin's later life through lore pieces, but his biggest story is clearly over, the main stage is best passed to another.

Suggestion: after this game comes out and if suckerpunch decides to make another game set in Japan, they should expand into other parts of the world and onto different time periods. These guys KNOW how to make an open world game and imagine a ghost of tsushima game set in ancient mesoamerica or the Roman Empire.
