A good video and have you seen the new Swedish Submarines of the Blekinge class?

Nice video, but there are considerable gaps in the historical retrospect. Jumping from destroyers to Visby class skips several generations of vessels that also was quite exceptional. For example the Norrköping class was the heaviest armed vessel of its size in the world. It is correct that it was the Russian submarine intrusions in the 80's that triggered Sweden to build corvettes. The Stockholm class was first in 1985. Visby is actually the third generation, the fourth is being developed now. Fun fact is that the Stockholm class had the same engine configurstion as Visby, but more power. The gas turbine produced 7000 hp, and the diesels 2500 hp each. Yet it wasnt faster than Visby.

Thank you for the insightful comment and you're right! Vessels like the Norrköping-class and Stockholm-class were crucial before the Visby-class. Balancing detail while keeping the video engaging is always a challenge, but your feedback highlights important context that we appreciate. Thanks for sharing!

There isn't any 'INSIDE' in the video.

didn't the US literally just abandon a design very similair to this because the "stealth" capabilities seemed to not really work with modern radar systems?
@tony186624 ай бұрын
The Us version had a fatal flaw its propulsion. Visby class is a 20 years old design and a newer class is being built Luleå class that's going to be bigger and more versatile than Visby class

@@tony18662 it was not the propulsion, the ship “does not provide the lethality or survivability needed in a high-end fight.”. And those were made of aluminium, this this is made of plastic XD

Swedish navy operates in the archipelagos of the Baltic Sea where these stealth ships are lot harder to detect than on the open seas where US Navy operates

@@Awaken2067833758what do you mean? Area where there are lots of islands makes it very hard to detect a small and stealthy ship by radar

They have no air defence capabilities however, visby class is kind of... outdated.

Ehmmm.. did you miss that.. both gun and missile anti-air.....

It's true that initially the Visby class had limited air defense. But now they are being modernized, and one of the upgrades is the installation of the Sea Ceptor system, which uses Common Anti-air Modular Missiles (CAMM). This will boost their air defense capabilities.
