interesting. drove past Cheam many times and admired it. Never climbed it. At 5.47 you have a vista with Baker at right; do you know the name of the mtn next over with the large ice field?

4:12 That little lake is cold even in the middle of the summer. One of my favorite hikes when I lived in the Wack. If you give yourself enough time you can hit both summits. Lady Peak and Cheam.

Whoa! Thanks for the video, this is on my list, hopefully it can be done Mid May. Are the views here the best in the Fraser Valley?

I would join the Chilliwack hiking group on Facebook so you can monitor snow conditions just to be sure. Lol I live by it so I see it everyday and it's still quite snow packed

Did you drive through Chipmunk Creek Forest Service Road? If you don't have a 4x4 vehicle and you want to go to the mountain by walking only, how many hours does it take through the steep mountain entrance from Chilliwack Lake Road?

How bad is it? Our Rental is gonna be a Crossover SUV (like a Toyota Rav 4 or Honda CRV). I really wan tto do this hike but if it isn't practical, we'd rather spend our time on a different hike. We're going in a week (so mid August)

Park there at your own risk...Plenty of breakins.

The road seemed pretty narrow, is there a separate road for the cars coming down or do you have to reverse it until they pass?
@ghostlyrich4 жыл бұрын
They're usually some pull outs along the way so if you see someone coming down the way go in to the pull out

Nice video man! I am planning to do this on the coming weekend. I have two questions 1) is my full crew cab ram 4x4 be okay for this trip.2) how steep is the trail near mt. Cheam at the end? Is it scary? Taking my 14 year old with me.

Its pronounced Mt. "SHE-EM" CHEAM.
@terryhorne32474 жыл бұрын
It’s pronounced Chee-yam. From the Halq’emeylem word Xwchiyom which is the name of a village at the base of the mountain on the Fraser river. The actual Halq’emeylem place name for Mt. Cheam is Lhílhleqy.
