Also if for some reason the oil filter does not turn easy to take it off then USE SAND paper to grip the filter ! 👍Food for thought ☺️

Conductive grease is dialectric grease and it goes on the tip of the plug the coil goes on and antisieze goes on the threads and nothing goes on the white shaft of the plug. There is a possibility that someone pressure washed the engine and got water in the spark plug holes seen it a hundred times! Good video
@zedwpd4 жыл бұрын
Dialectic grease is NOT conductive. It protects from corrosion. If you have a weak electrical connection, using dialectic grease can weaken it even more.

just curious to know to know if the 20 lbs of toque is a rule if thumb or specific to this spark plug change?

Dielectric grease Not on threads on tip only! Anti-Seize on threads! NEVER USE AUTOLITE IN A FORD ALWAYS USE MOTOCRAFT PLUGS!!!!!!
@SokoWaves4 жыл бұрын
I was thinking the same. This comment should be pinned

I'm a rookie apparently. What's wrong with using Double Platinum Autolite plugs in a Ford Fusion?
@gregorytolson46216 жыл бұрын
I think you got the dielectric grease wrong. You use it on the white shaft of the plug, not the threads. You should be putting antiseize on the threads

Was there a cover over that area that you removed already? I have a fusion hybrid

Not for the standard 2.5L I4.

Robert, did you change your plugs? Any issues? I have a 2011 Hybrid, and the manual says for spark plug change, see dealer.

Anyway you could link what spark plugs , and coils to get?

If I were you look up rock auto. You can put in your vehicle make and model and year. Will give you part numbers and everything. I like to buy spark plugs usually local and open them at the auto parts store just incase one of them is busted in the package. I NGK makes good coils and plugs. Bosche makes wicked plugs to. Iridium plugs are more money but last longer
@lexm58715 жыл бұрын
Do not put Dielectric grease on the threads. It's an insulator, and the plugs need electrical connection at the threads so the spark will occur.

I thought the torque is suppose to be 106 inch pounds which is 8.83 foot pounds not 20 🤔

Hey everyone actually had a question I have the same car from the video can someone kinda give me some insight on a problem iv bin having with the idle while Parked , driving and in reverse just gets kinda shaky at times when I first got the car it never did that it currently has 124081 miles on it
@ghostlyrich3 жыл бұрын
Shaky can be allot of things, for maintenance if you haven't service the transmission fluid, airfilter check, throttle body cleaning, new spark plugs. Those would be the biggest ones I would tackle. But back and forth chair can be bushing and other parts that have worn over time

Ought to try changing spark plugs in a 3 liter Fusion. Pain in the butt. Have to take off the whole top of the engine intake manifold to get the 3 in the back. Another money saving idea from Ford. Remember... Ford has a better idea.....

Never put dielectric grease on the porcelain the spark will follow it to ground. Use copper anti seize and very little. It can give you a check lite because it can block ground.

use Motorcraft plugs only they do not cost that much more and they are better than Autolite. also change them every 60 k not 100 torque on the plugs is not 20ftlbs
