Ghostrunner Developers React to 34 Minute Speedrun

Ghostrunner, when played normally, is already an incredibly fast game. So what does it look like when being played as fast as humanly possible? English is actually very easy and versatile which is why It is the most used worldwide. Even other widespread and fairly accesible languages like Spanish, French and German are way more complex

Do you also think that Latin became the lingua franca of Western Europe during the Roman Empire because it was so easy, and the Byzantine and Seleucid empires used Greek because it was the easiest language at the time? Do you think Afrikaans sounds so much like Dutch because it's easy? Do you think English is particularly common in India, or that Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the USA ended up speaking English because they picked the easiest language? Can you not think of anything else that links those countries, and countries in the Caribbean like Jamaica, and Ireland, and countries in parts of Africa like Zimbabwe or the Seychelles?

These Devs are so amazing. The amount of respect and even admiration they have for the speedrunning communitty is incredible and you rarely find developers who actively work with speedrunners like that. The fact they put a skip back in the game because the speedrunners reported it missing is practically unheard of for any other game. Also they just seem honestly happy seeing people abuse their games mechanics to do stuff like this because they know just how skilled these players have to be to pull this off. Like at 20:10 their reaction is so great to that massive jump. They unwittingly created a masterpiece of a game for speedrunning and when they realized that, they just fully embraced it and it worked out perfectly. Their qoute at 21:42 perfectly summarizes their view of speedrunners techniques and skips "When you have skill to move like that... Why should we stop them?"

No mods, it's just abusing the mechanics consistently for a long time preserving the momentum and adding to it with each jump. When you play it for the first time you will be probably 3 times slower when moving (and die 50 times on each level).

DSJ. Dash slide jump. practically you dash and then slide jump to maintain that speed. this is a bug but it's fun and it's actually quite difficult.
