Crossout goes hard in a Ghoti deck because in addition to handtraps and whatnot you can crossout a Ghoti and it'll trigger on the next turn since crossout only negates until the end phase, essentially making it 3 copies of gold sarc

New White Aura cards allow for more turn 1 plays, but from testing it feels extremely susceptible to bricking, and now the deck loses to things it just didn't before, usually stuff like Ash, Belle, Droll, and Nib. That and there's no 1 card combos for the deck that actually do anything. It's all 2 card combos. Best 2 card combo I could find is Sardine + Abyss Shark ends you on Askaan, Risen Dragite, a Ghoti Trap, and a Shif coming back in the standby. So one spell/trap negate, one monster banish, and a mass banish. A Fish Circular is nice, it just that this fish doesn't actually do anything. If it was a proper Ghoti circular, then that would've been a much different story.

Anemone effect to revive Sunfish, keep as nontuner. 9. Synchro 6 Sardine + Porpoise for Arionpos, banish Shif. 10. Synchro 8 Sardine + Arionpos for Askaan, banish Arionpos to add Eanoc. 11. Link 2 Porpoise + Anemone for Abyss Keeper. 12. Abyss Keeper to special Eanoc. 13. Eanoc to special Shif. 14. Eanoc to banish Abyss Keeper for Ghoti Fury. 15. Synchro 8 for Risen Dragite. 16. Shif grave effect to banish. 17. Set trap, pass. 18. Standby special Shif. 19. Scoop at "In standby activate droplet, negate Shif and Dragite".

It'd be nice if they print some of the unreleased white cards from the manga, based on my expectations one of them will be an e-tele for fish monsters (white prosperity) and another will be a foolish burial for fishes after reworking their manga effects. If they do they'll also need to create ways to search those cards.

ghoti runic is probably still the best way to play the deck. that way the cards that make your ghoti are actually good cards and don't need 2 other cards to do anything while having no sustain

The joke is where the name came from, however Konami very clearly pronounced it "Go-tee" in their promotional material for the deck. Ergo, the archetype is not pronounced "fish."
