Such a beautiful thing to see your family give feedback after they eat. I don’t think you realize how many good vibes you’re sending out into the world bro….with your enthusiasm and creativity when you cook, your willingness to share your fishing knowledge and with how you and Brook share your beautiful family values. You guys are my absolute favorite KZbin channel… Keep it up!

maybe try saving all the pin bone segments you cut from all your fish, save them in the freezer, then when you have a large enough amount, you can pressure cook to make a soup stock. Also, you can freeze vegetables, fruit, even meat, without worry of freezer burn, if you put them in a tupperware and cover completely with water... then, whether string beans or meat, just run under hot water to melt the ice. Or you can also use chicken stock instead of water, then just put the whole block of ice in the stockpot / pressure cooker.

try adding the brine from a jar of GREEN olives into your salad dressings and marinades... it will give it a great zip of flavor (but NOT the brine from black olives, which juice contains oxalates / oxalic acid, which can lead to stones developing).

Cooking is an art. If you've done it long enough, you don't need to measure, you just know how much to use, and you know what flavors go with other flavors; like a painter knows what colors go well together, or which colors to mix to get a secondary or tertiary color. Thus, if a person does not know how much of something to use... it means he has not been cooking enough, or he has hamstrung himself by only rigidly following recipes like a chemist. Cooking is not a chemistry experiment in which an exact amount of something is needed or it will not work (except maybe in jellymaking). The difference is like a person not paying attention when driving somewhere, and only following pre-written instructions on a piece of paper. If you've driven the route enough times you don't need to follow the directions because you "just know". A person who does not pay attention or actually think will invariably be lost.
