I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings here, but... I'd take Ryan's 88' LP SCC over ALL these Customs. I thought I was gonna really dig the LP Darkback Goldtop but it's nothing like the old 80's Goldtops with the original Tim Shaw pickups. Right now I'm on my EMG game and I was never really a huge fan of EMG's but I just bought a Fender Jim Root Telecaster white with the ebony board and man this thing is a weapon and the fit and finish was outstanding. I had to buy it and got it as a demo for a smoking deal.

To each their own. I can say with 100% certainty that I will be getting rid of my ‘88 Custom Showcase once I buy a 1957 Les Paul Custom VOS. My ‘88 custom just feels dull in comparison to my VOS Customs. But that’s me. I’ve played the ‘88 for years and have loved it! Cheers -Ryan

@@Crypticmaskguitar WOW! Really... because the '88 comes across in your recordings like a monster. You still rockin the 500/496? and what kinda price tag are we talkin about for the 88'? I might be big time interested if you don't mind shipping it to Ontario

Yeah it's still the 500/496 combo. I'm not a fan of shipping guitars, so it will be a local sale... in a years time. There's currently 5-6 people who are waiting for me to list it for sale locally hahaha! It's a fantastic guitar... but compared to the VOS guitars it doesn't have as much bite (Acoustically, of course as the 500T is rather hot). The Custombuckers are exactly what I've been looking for in pickups for years (Preference of course). The best part about the '88 is the wear that it has gotten over the years... it has aged in all of the right spots hahaha! It'll be tough to part with it, but I just don't have any urges to pick it up anymore. Cheers -Ryan
