Such a great sounding guitar finally bit the bullet and bought one a couple months ago

Hands down, best review online. I really appreciated you sharing your string choice AND pick choice - that influences tone so much and you gave me some good ideas about how to coax even better tone from my J45! Thanks!!!!

I have a 1991 J-45 that I'm learning to play on that has sat since new and is virtually untouched. Sweet sounding guitars!

Thanks. Very relevant for me as I have the NT-1A and a hone studio interface. My J-45 is the 50s Original. I’d like to see you go through your steps to mix the direct and mic’d tracks, along with a comparison of the separate tracks. Not sure where you found a J-45 for $2,200, though. Maybe the Studio version?
@JLFulks2 жыл бұрын
I just record one line direct and one with the NT-1A positioned correctly. Then I blend the two. Usually I cut down the DB of the direct track 30% and it blends nicely with the NT1A. I’ll do a video in the future on that mic and recording acoustic guitar.

Bob. How are you enjoying the J-45 50s thus far? I'm a lifelong armature player but did club gigs for quite a few years. I own a Martin D28CW which is awesome but I have wanted a sunburst J45 since I was 12 years old, now nearly 60. After weeks of reviewing and contemplation, I ordered a 50s J45 in Vintage Sunburst and am waiting on it to arrive. I'm both excited and anxious to see how the more rounded neck and the 12" radius fingerboard feels. I had to order as I don't have a walk in store handy to play numerous examples.

Thank you for the review. I recently purchased a taylor t5z standard for 1man shows, but for as good as it feels. It is definitely not a replacement for a good acoustic.

i was a martin fan .until i played a j 45 ,blows my d 41 out of the water, and all the other guitars i own , i will be selling the martins and buying gibson's from now on ,martins craftsmanship over the last 10 years has really gone down hill , binding on the d 41 is coming off martin was trying save money with cheaper bindings , but still charge 5000.00 for a d 41 . They have new people at martin from what i can tell they really don't care.
@larrnew Жыл бұрын
I agree I bought a new Martin om21 and less than 1 year the binding came loose. The store allowed me to replace it with a 000-18 and less than a year the binding came off and needed a neck reset. I take good care of my guitars so it wasn’t from neglect or abuse… no more Martin for me.🥲

Well to be honest Gibson even has worse QC than Martin
@t-bone36572 жыл бұрын
The QC on new ones are crap. Buy a good used one prior to 2012.. I searched for a year and found a mint 2011 standard electric for $1900. They’re out there - don’t buy this great classic new
