Hello KZbin!
Its been way too long (yet again) unfortunately since my last upload, but honestly, a lot has happened. Its been 7 weeks and I have a backlog of video to edit - the next two videos in fact sitting on my computer just waiting for the time to get them online.
I took a three week break to Vietnam with Monica, I played a music festival in 2 different bands, I quit my job and have now started a new one!
But, the guitar! honestly, the guitar is way further down the line right now than what you see in this video, if you want to stay up to date on what i'm up to please follow along on my instagram as I do post a lot more regularly on there.
Finished the MOP inlay, time consuming but a good second go at this kind of thing. I don't have any kind of access to a CNC nor can I really justify outsourcing this to someone else. Things that I think need improving is the logo itself, the 'S' in Mosal lends itself to look somewhat like a 'g' so that will need a little work on the next go round. And the material I was using could be thinner, it is 2mm MOP blank sheet, I think it could be half the thickness at 1mm, which would save a lot of time cutting out and the final shaping, but it will be more prone to snapping. There is always a tradeoff.
Ended up with having to do a layer of super glue finish as the headstock veneer looked different under the super glue, as opposed to the parts not covered. So I had to go all in and give the whole headstock veneer a go over, this meant a fair bit more sanding, I think a possible solution to this would be a thinner super glue and some accelerator. Next time....
Lastly, gluing the neck to the body. All went pretty smoothly to be honest, I could have done a better job cleaning up the neck joint on the back of the heel before the glue had dried. Next time...
The neck angle is now sitting at 2.5 degrees, which is band on where I want it to be.....
Thats all for now, I will hopefully get the next video out in a week!
