This video has me rethinking everything I think I know about tone. I haven’t been very enamored with Gibson pickups since the Burstbuckers were introduced...but daaayyyuuum. Now I’m looking into one of these.

Best sounding pickups Gibson makes in my opinion. I even like them better than the Burstbucker Pros. He forgot to mention that there is also additional dip switches inside that let you turn on/off a high pass filter treble bleed option for both pickups.

Just bought one of these today in an Iced Tea Burst. I'd been looking at getting a new Gibson LP for years and the Traditional wasn't on my radar but a recent sale got my attention. This one really sold me in the store though. Great feel, incredible sound, versatility a looker to boot. Gonna enjoy this one for a long time.

The perfect modern (!!) Gibson Les Paul Guitar (concerning to me, I have to admit) would look like: - All the mentioned switching possibilities with Push / Pull potis - Locking Tuners - Jumbo Frets made of Stainless Steel (had my guitars refretted with it - love it so much!) - Allen Key studs for levelling the height of the bridge (action) Please Gibson USA, take these specs for your modern versions of the iconic Les Paul Guitar - then she would be perfect. Best wishes from Germany, Markus

Virtually identical features wise to my standard but, I do like that option to choose between CT or CS, and the ability to choose which coils is more useful than the pure bypass on mine. Nice. Good demo too.

I wonder if the tradbucker is actually a renamed gibsom livebucker that were a guitar center exclusive in the gc veriosn of the gibson customshop 1960 les paul whch was called the G0 rather than the R0. They were open coil alnico 5 underwound neck and overwound alnico 5 bridge with uneven coil winds. The livebuckers were basically a low wind cutombucker and overwound custombucker with Alnico 5. They must be the same. The livebcukers were 7.2 neck and 8 4k bridge.

Is $1600.00 new a good deal on these? I've only been playing seriously for 9 months (3-4 hours per day). I probably should get an Epiphone 59, but I'm afraid if I do I'll just wish I had gotten the Gibson on sale.😏
@ChrisEck132 жыл бұрын
$1600 is a very good price IMO. These are exclusive to Guitar Center and Musician's Friend. They've been on sale a few times but the Wine Red at $1600 is the lowest I've ever seen them. Its a lot of money when you compare it to Asian made guitars but I think it's a great price for a high quality American made Gibson with body and neck binding done by hand, mother of pearl inlaid logo, excellent hardshell case, fantastic pickups, etc. I just bought one on Saturday.
@beaglegod12 жыл бұрын
@@ChrisEck13 just got it home and I'm quickly getting used to the Les Paul feel, it's not as heavy as I thought it was going to be thankfully. One thing that's bugging me is the neck pick up when I pull the volume knob which I believe splits the neck, it actually sounds less bright than when pushed in. Unsplit it's bright and articulate, split it sounds less so, do you find that to be the case?
@ChrisEck132 жыл бұрын
@@beaglegod1 you may want to check and see whether it's being split or tapped. There's a little dipswitch in the control cavity and you can switch whether you want it to tap or split the pickup. I dont really use it all that much but I like the bridge tapped and the neck split. There are individual switches for each pickup so you can set each one differently if you desire. You can also select which coil in the pickup is active if you're splitting. If you pull up the bridge tone you can select the inner coil instead of the outer coil. It won't do anything if it's being tapped though
@beaglegod12 жыл бұрын

Not sure if fans will be happy with this guitar due to the whole "Dip Switch" thing. If I recall correctly, the 2019 Les Paul Standard had that and almost no one liked it because it was too complicated to work for coil splitting and tapping, and didn't stick to tradition.

Metal heads like you don't know how to play without some kind of effect or distortion. You do the guitar no justice by not playing it completely clean......
@mertmunson14172 жыл бұрын
if you are a "metal head" then why would you want to play it clean. you'd want distortion. your elitist comment says nothing, but "I listen to better music than you metal heads"
@daboosreviews88192 жыл бұрын
At 9:00 in he actually does play it clean, and very well I might add. Just because Dagan has long hair doesn't mean he's a metal head. Actually, in my experience as a music producer for 30+ years, the "metalheads" can ALWAYS play guitar better than the traditional players.
