Doing this to an engine gives a sense of satisfatcion knowing quality & care was taken with each process, unlike mass marketed default stock engines.

Changing my motor out after I overheated and spun a rod bearing while offroading. Wanted to re-gasket the new motor and your video is just perfect. You're a clean freak my guy I'm not sure if you've ever been told that. Good have you for reference, because I can't see anything past the grime and I don't want to miss anything. Thanks for the TLC

Very important to get a good thick bead on the chinna rails. Some gasket kits come with a rubber bridge for this area. FYI...I think my gap in this area was about 3/16", so you really need to get a good thick bead or else redo all your work after finding a huge oil leak.

Something I'm curious about, maybe you'll have thoughts on it...the pushrods on this motor are solid. Any chance the lifters would push oil upwards (like the old Chevys do) if you were to find a set of hollow pushrods? It'd eliminate the pushrod/rocker wear that's so common with these motors.

I have no idea if the lifters would work that way or it's the oil pressure would allow for it but nothing's impossible

Did you do anything to the lifters? Is it possible to bleed them ?
@GibsonGarage
@GibsonGarage 2 жыл бұрын
Is soaked them in a bucket of oil and used a push rod to bleed them

I’m at the same point on my 94. Got my head surfaces clean and almost done with block surfaces. Same cylinder was filled with coolant luckily mine didn’t bend or break anything. What is the cooper stuff for? Do I have to use it or just use new gaskets as they are?

@@GibsonGarage I missed the purpose of the copper spray. Is it an adhesive or sealeant or preventative?

@@97warlockits to help the heat transfer from the block to the head's more evenly, its not necessary with today's modern head gaskets but it doesn't hurt anything, could keep certain gasket brands from sealing properly though. Check the info that comes with specific head gasket brand before installation.

Why is the lube used on the pushrods?
@GibsonGarage
