Kirk carving his initials into Greeny is such a brilliant display of why he deserves to own it. It's only worth millions if it's going to auction, as it stands it's a working man's instrument and that little touch of "vandalism" is a brilliant reminder that the real value is in the legacy of the mavericks that have paved the way for us to even have such a strong opinion on an inanimate object in the first place.
@NOBodYnose0223 ай бұрын
I don't believe any instrument is "worth" millions, it's just that people with that kind of $$ are usually ruthless and will buy things to brag that they more than you. Then they'll put in a glass case to look at it and never touch it and ol greeny will be crying to be let out to play. Hooray capitalism
@RoadWarrior773 ай бұрын
I think that by carving his initials into it, it makes the guitar more special. It makes it more unique in a fashion. I would say that it is like papers on registered animal breeds. You can tell that Peter Green personalized it for himself, and then Gary Moore personalized it for himself. Kirk is just adding on to the tradition.

The whole gothic-esque atmosphere is just spectacular. Edit: All of the guitars were amazing, and the stories! Thanks for covering ESP, that was cool to touch on. But for me, that ‘64 J-180 Everly just stole my heart. A number of years ago I had a chance to buy one, black with double pickguard, for $4k and I passed. My wife, bless her heart, pressured me to buy it, but I just couldn’t get myself to spend that kind of money on one of my dream guitars. That was obviously a huge miss on my part!

Ha! Love the Black V. Kirk kicked me in the head while he was playing that black V 😂. It was a fairly small gig back in the day. Armored Saint opened. Me and this dude in the front row were clawing at the stage to try to pull ourselves up on stage to stage dive. The dude to my right accidentally grabbed Kirk’s guitar cable and jerked Kirk around while he was trying to play. This was back when Kirk prob weighed 135 lbs wet. Kirk looked down, couldn’t figured out which one of us yanked his guitar cord and I became the unlucky recipient of a Chuck Taylor tennis shoe to the grille. 😂 The following day I was at school bragging that Kirk kicked me in the face with a big Chuck Taylor waffle print on my cheek 😂. Good times.

I met Metallica during the Master of Puppets tour at the New Orleans Lakefront Arena when they opened for Ozzy. My friend was like let's go around back to see if Ozzy is here yet, and there was Metallica standing there Cliff and all. They were cool, shook our hands etc. They Ozzy pulled up in a limo, it was surreal to me at 15.
