I gotta give it to Chris. Dude is making smart career moves over and over. The first movie he directed was a small indie (and pretty good compared to most modern rom-coms). Now taking roles like this in another small movie? I imagine he can do whatever movie he wants and gets multiple offers for big movies, but it seems like he's doing stories that are special to him. Respect. Movie looks pretty good. Plus, it must be pretty cool to do a movie with your girlfriend.

Well, not necessarily. A lot of these prodigy kids were just blessed with a gift. We were all given something. It just wasn't this but similar. Being this gifted is no different than someone who knows how to sing, dance, draw and etc. Overall, being smart also means actually taking the time out to read and study all the different things life has to offer to have a better understanding while possessing the knowledge to discuss and talk about later on down the road. It's just another one of those nuggets you hold on to for later because you just never know. You just might find yourself having to put it to some use.

So this frustrates me. I had a son who was easily doing algebra and reading at an 8th grade level by the time he was 4. He somehow figured it all out on his own - easily flying through an on line math course at his own choosing. I had a very difficult time educating him because his teachers couldn't keep up and some called his advanced learning ability a problem for the rest of the class. We bounced from school to school - private schools turned him away because they could. I got him a math tutor at Dartmouth when he was 7 - he was in high school at 9 - thanks to the principal who had her PHD in profoundly gifted education - he was the captain of the high school Latin team at 11 (and he loved it and they him) - but still was a kid - still had a childhood - still had friends his own age. Finished with college at 18 (although it would have been sooner if I let him finish high school at 14) ... Why do people think that just because a kid is a fast learner.... and gets to keep up with what he wants to learn - that robs him of his childhood. That mind needs stimulation - encouragement for learning... He is now 30 and completely normal and happy.

I have yet to see much evidence of any of this.. Many of these things in my view are bought rather than gifted. There are less things on tv than before but I dont think 1 in a hundred kind of thing.. Ur almost kidding yourself.. In some cases there are frauds found out or plagarized works etc.. In this day and age.. Very hard to believe anyone can be smarter than a computer.. Not impossible but the 1 out of a mil thing hahaha yeah right...

Did u watch the movie? It explains in more detail but the reason Frank is so against the gifted thing is because (imma include SPOILERS so only continue if u watched or wanna know anyway) him and his sister were gifted (she was smarter than him) and their mom was tough on them. She was very controlling and led her daughter to commit suicide so Frank was terrified of his mother getting his niece and doing the same thing. Then he'd lose them both. Plus he made a promise to his sister their mom wouldn't get her and she would grow up normal (not like them) so since they were both progadies normal to him means public school with kids her age. At the end he finds a balance for his niece but losing his sister scared him.
