I purchased this mobo along with a Lian Li Lancool 205 case. I couldn't make the fans work except while updating the BIOS. All wires were connected correctly. So I am returning this mobo and exchanging for another. I ruled out the case as not being the problem.

Such a beautiful motherboard which has all the essential parts and features. I remember the VRM is also superb for the Elite series this time. I still prefer the screw method for M.2 ssd which just feels much more reliable. It may be useful for people who are going to swap ssds all day for benchmarking, image creation.... Based on its price, it is a strong pick among the B650 I reckon

@@thetime2089 still good, take note of the bottom right connection (i think it's front USB) is pointing at a right angle as opposed of pointing away from the motherboard. This might affect your case if it's tight. Regarding heat, you can easily limit wattage and undervolt from bios.

This year it's AMD's turn to be the expensive option because of the price of entry on a new platform. They really shot themself in the foot with a DDR5 only platform but next season I think it will be in their favor once DDR5 stabilizes and Intel inevitably change sockets. The market is really bad for any build with commodities at extreme highs that the only wise option in this gen is the 13600k on DDR4. We're reaching the peak of HW capacity before going to much more power draw so even last gen makes sense in the grand scheme of things. Having some extra dough to actually play games is better than a 5-10% better performance gain.

The platform lasts way longer. If they had supported DDR4 too, then they couldn't keep the platform for a longer time. Intel could do both because they always do two generations only.

Microcenter is running a deal, if you buy a 7700x and a conpatable motherboard, you get 2x16GB DDR5 for free. I couldn't padd it up. My GF is running a 2600x still so she's going to take my 5700x and X570 motherboard while I get the shiny new AM5 lol

I have this motherboard. It's a nice motherbaord with nice features but the only CON I find is that is takes forever to boot to windows every single time. This is a common problem with almost all the b650 am5 motherboards.

@@kanethomo2483 Gigabyte has just release a new bios that speeds up the booting time,, it only takes about 10 seconds, where as before it would take 30 seconds..

Hi Mario, which BIOS update are you on? I actually had to update as soon as I built the PC with the board because it was not letting me overclock my RAM to its actual speeds and it was stuck on 4800Mhz. After I updated to F3b it worked like a charm, also applied some PBO settings on my 7700x and my PC is running rock solid. A new BIOS update came out, I updated to it and it kinda broke my PC and gave me all kinds of issues as well as not letting me overclock RAM again or do any tweaks. Luckily reverting back was super simple. I then come to find out that new BIOS update was taken down which clearly meant it had issues. I think it was F3h or something, not on the gigabyte site anymore. Just a weird situation overall. My booting times are extremely quick after I get to the motherboard screen (that takes either 10-15 secs), I am still hoping a newer BIOS update will fix that soon.

7:10 I cannot understand why people can’t see how this is helpful. The standard latches are near impossible to access if you have a big air cooler. This latch is an excellent design. All you do is put a little downward pressure on your gpu, then press the latch downward slightly while holding light pressure on the latch rock the gpu out of the socket. It’s a great design. DO NOT try to use that latch as some sort of eject button for your gpu!!!!

"Get it out Nick" - wait a minute did Klaire write this ep? Having used the X570 elite it was a thorough disappointment. Gigabytes RGB software is dismal at best, and 4 fan headers for an X570 was just laughable for any sort of reasonable system. Ended up switching to a B550 Master, which is a much better quality board even if it still suffers from 1990's software quality. Good to see a couple extra headers on the B650, hopefully the lighting control is improved.

The only way this board and AM5 is worth it is if you get some kind of deal. Got free DDR5 ram from purchasing the 7700X and $50 off the board. Couldn’t pass it up, then we can say it can be worth it.

Single 8 pin is enough. Though, if you are thinking about overclocking/running higher clock speeds then the extra 4 pin would help with giving more power to the CPU to use for heavy overclocking.

Im very sorry to bother you but on this mother board at the TOP LEFT side there is a plug called ATX_12V1/ATX. This plus shows a 4 pin group for 12 volts. It seem the power supply cables do not come with a 4 pin (two 12v with 2 Grounds) How can I find this kind of a plug wire ?

​@@troyfrei2962 The 8-pin EPS12v CPU cable can be split into two 4-pin connectors, I found this by doing hella research because pcpartpicker also told me the RM750 came with all the adequate cables, but I could not find it lol. So yeah, that 8-pin cable you should be able to separate it by pulling it (it'll show in the middle it can be pulled).

It really isnt THAT much, considering the PCIE5.0 requirement, and provide multiple PCIE 4.0 slots, look at the Intel side, B660 boards that supports multiple PCIE 4.0 slots are almost as expensive as B650. Until the last two years we are stuck on PCIE3.0 for a long time(7years) allowing prices to come down, then, in the span of 2-3 years we jumped two generations of PCIE, so the new boards that uses PCIE4.0 and above are expensives

B600 have enough of features for budget segment while having new features like pcie 5.0 x16 on GPU slot .. I don't think anyone gonna use pcie 5.0 SSD like in the b650 motherboards...
