Gigguk didn't read the video description. The reason Jojo ending song like Roundabout, Walk like an Egyptian and Great Pretender are not here is because they are already popular songs before becoming an anime ending. But then the video made an error about Call of the Night because the song itself came out before the manga even existed. Overall this indicates that people skip ending more than OP.

Was Call of The Night already popular before being the ED song? Edit: To clarify, I meant was the song already popular before.

gigguk being flabbergasted by a kenshi yonezu song beating out jjk ed1 made me giggle. it's the difference between anime mainstream and music mainstream. I'm coming from a main music fandom and it was really not that surprising - kenshi yonezu is wildly popular not just in japan but globally. he was literally on yearly IFPI best seller lists with artists like taylor swift and bts. before yoasobi got her international spotlight kenshi yonezu was already a name on such lists. i know he's been a household name in japan but his music's been getting big global reach pretty much since 'eine kleine'. when orion dropped it was very popular in the music scene but beyond that for artists like kenshi his discography gets streamed a lot more than what most popular anime songs will be even with a wide reach. i guess it can be surprising because jjk ed1 is such a mainstreamly popular song but it's mostly among anime fans, while a song by kenshi will be streamed by both anime folks and music folks who tune in for both his single and album releases. a lot of the time the other not even knowing about each other. for example me - i didn't even know orion was an anime ending lol.
