Gil's Arena Gets An INSIDE LOOK At The Milwaukee Bucks' Struggles This Season as Bucks Legend and current broadcaster Marques Johnson joins Gilbert Arenas and The Gil's Arena Crew to peel back the curtain on what's going on in Cream City since Doc Rivers took over as head coach and offer exclusive insights as to why a team with talent like Damian Lillard and Giannis Antetokounmpo is struggling to gel this late into the NBA season.
Gil’s Arena premieres every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 11:30am PT / 2:30pm ET.

You cant justify firing Griffin with the 2nd best record in the league. They gave Budenholzier 5 seasons to fizzle out of the playoffs after having dominant regular seasons each year, but Griffin only gets half a season? CAP

Marques Johnson is the man, not only Josiah’s father and an NBA legend as a player and broadcaster/analyst but also in acting with his character “Raymond” from “White Men Can’t Jump.” His scene was small but arguably one of the most memorable and funniest ever…in the scene he left the start of a pickup game and put the mask on to rob the store and changed his voice when the clerk recognized who he was…he eventually sold the gun to the clerk. I saw the movie in the theater as a teenager and the laughter at that scene was if we were in a comedy show 😂😂😂😂

As the Celtics fan, we go through similar stuff. If Milwaukee actually thinks that bringing in doc was the missing final piece to beating the Celtics and getting to the finals then it was the right move. But I don't think anyone believes that they have a chance to win the East right now. So what's the point? Doc will get out coached against the Celtics or the heat or the sixers. In Milwaukee doesn't have the weapons Boston has. So a few years ago when we had Isaiah Thomas is our best player at point guard, make no mistake I wasn't imagining that we have shot to do anything, but sneaking past the first round would be exciting because that's as good as I thought we were. I believe the fans are ready to win again, and so are the players, so bringing in Pat Bev and dock may not have been the right moves to pass these other teams in the east, but only time can tell.

I'm sorry but Gil never identifies what a coach does or doesn't do, he just leans back on "Oh you should have made it work!". What argument did he have for Griffin in his prior videos or even this video? "I made adjustments when my coach was slacking; you should have kept the coach!". Budenholzer's flaws were his post season adjustments, he made none. Constantly had the ball in Giannis's hands when it would be more efficient to run pick and roll - never implemented great pick and roll plays for Giannis, their offense kept getting shut down by the Celctics as they keyed in on him. Griffin had DAME at the TOP OF THE DEFENSE. ZERO DEFENSIVE IQ, he should have been fired. Doc is a defensive coach but his offenses and adjustments have been TERRIBLE throughout his career.

There’s only so much you can do with this roaster you have dame and Beasley trying to play defense recipe for disaster. Offensively we have people chucking threes with not enough IQ to drive to the basket when they’re not falling. …basically the problem is pretty much the same as previous years. Giannis does his job but his teammates let him down.

I think this Bucks team has the same problem the Nets under KD did. They want to play to their strengths and would rather fire a coach who has them work on their weaknesses than improve.

He blamed the coaches not the players. The coach makes the plays it’s up to the players to execute them. They failed both Griffin and Budenholzer.

Problem with what Gil trying to say about Eddie Jordon n compare to Griffin with Bucks is Wizards wasnt a championship team or was playing for anything or had any expectations U heard him say Bucks chip or bust Was never chip or bust with wizards so it didnt matter..
