Hey Kobe himself said the only person he take a backseat to or could beat him was MJ…MJ was stronger and more athletic than Kobe… MJ was on a vicious level of dominance….

Kobe never had to face a Bad Boy Pistons Defense, or 90's Knicks physical style or Bird's Celtics and Showtime Lakers. Kobe never had to worried about hard Flagrant Fouls being called as regular fouls

Kobe was the Fadeaway Jordan version. Kobe's prime athletic peak was like Jordan's '93 self. They ain't the same.

02-03 Kobe was his absolute peak, which was identical to 92-93 MJ. He was far less efficient than MJ. *In a nutshell, Kobe tried emulating 91-98 MJ.* Good analysis on this one Gil. No trolling from me on this one.

88' Jordan was probably the Best Basketball player to ever lace up a pair of Sneakers. Coming from a Diehard Laker & Kobe fan.

Jordan in 83-93 was the best player EVER, by a mile, when guys like larry magic all admit you're better than them, by a mile. Larry is so cocky he never complimented anyone with "god in basketball shorts" And people forget Jordan can give you that consistent 200% intensity for 48 min, as a scorer/defender, that's something people miss/avoid talking about when talking about guys like KD who's the best scorer, how can you be the best if you can't sustain it in the fourth quarter/OT, jordan gave you that in double triple OTs, non-stop, no fatigue.

See this is why Kobe is the Goat to me he was really just an average NBA player but trained and developed so hard that he became better than 95 percent of NBA history give Kobe MJ or Bron Athleticism he is by far the best ever and it's not close

Jordan’s career 3 point percentage was 32.7 and Kobe’s was 32.9. Jordan shot 50 % from 3 in the 1994-95 season. No real difference between Kobe and Mike from 3!

I beg to differ about not comparing Cursive writing Chicago Jordan😂 vs Kobe. Young Kobe wanted the challenge welcomed it wholeheartedly. His team /coach didn’t believe he was ready for it. Imagine rookie Kobe getting the green light like other first round players did. Jordan,A.I.,DWade,LeBron, Melo etc

Jordan is so far above everyone else that it's ridiculous and almost seems unfair. But it's FACT. Proof of that is, go look at kobe's 2008 MVP #'s and compare those to Jordan's ROOKIE YEAR!!!! lol!!!! As Magic himself said: "There's Michael Jordan... and then there's the rest of us".

What's gonna happen is, Kobe is gonna excel at the 80s style of play... Kobe didn't dribble a lot for his era, his post game and finesse at the rim will excel, his lay pack wasn't extreme. His grace and defense will also excel in the 80s... He might not win like he did because winning is a team effort, right? He resembles the second 3 peat MJ, the post, the fade, the tough shot making... You're right about that... But his game was trained by the 80s so why wouldn't he make it in the 80s

This Kobe slander gotta stop. You getting worse than ESPN Gil and I'm not even a Kobe fan like that. Always preferred LeBron. People compare them due to their drive to win and improve. But you acting like he didn't snag 2 without Shaq. MJ never won without Scottie. Kobe chased his CO star out of town and still got it done. And Kobe had vert before his decline. He was dunking on and cooking far better talent. Kobes era is one of the most talented times in NBA history. Stop it.
@L0ngstrip3 ай бұрын
This is the best argument you’ve made Gil. Though we still can tell some of the players that would be great in the 80. Kawhi is a great example because he is so fundamentally sound.
