Honestly I believe this is one of the main reasons why MJ loved Kobe! Because of the winning spirit and fire in Kobe! Regardless of the perfect ending you got to think about it. Jordan wouldn't want somebody to have a perfect ending if he was competing in the game regardless if it was an All-Star game or finals! You have to have that winning tenacity

10:27 I truly believe this is what Jordan wanted all along. He wasn't happy with the direction of the NBA so he came back. Kobe beating him is actually the best way to send him off. He can rest assured that the NBA is in good hands, truly staying competitive going forward. He did the same thing to Bird, Magic, and Thomas. He calls it "passing the torch". Not really a Jordan fan, but I like this aspect of his persona. Made me smile. 🙂

Who earned more than Jordan? Who was better than Jordan? Who did Kobe go to to learn the game if it wasn't Jordan, who gave Kobe a style to run with if it wasn't Jordan and what did Kobe give the league if it wasn't Jordan. Kobe whole career can be summed up in one word; Jordan! Kobe gave it up later before he passed, he simply said " What you get from me is from him" Sounds like Jesus telling the people who were gambling in the church that they were sinning when he said " These are not my words but the words of my Father" in other words "What you get from me is from him" That's some biblical stuff for you!

Kobe didn't ruin the game at all, and he squeezed it like a lemon... I admit that this match is top3 allstar game ever for me and thank you Kobe for that!!! He's exactly like Jordan said he could have hit three shots with ease. He was throwing for 3 because he wanted to win... Jordan and Kobe are different mentalities... This match was their duel. Jordan passed the baton and Kobe showed respect by missing one free throw to give the aging basketball god a chance. I will also add that Vinc's act letting MJ into the top five and Marion's amazing defense at this throw made this match an icon of the All-Star Game, the icing on the cake, a determinant of fun and competition in one... What would I give to make the All-Star Game look like this every year... Imagine the matches... that goes head to head Kobe vs MJ as in this match ... Steph Curry vs. Ray Allen... Duncan vs Jokic... LeBron vs Giannis... Old and new generation and similarity of style... It gives this game so much love and fierceness among the people of the world. What an amazing sport...

Kobe made 2 of 3 FTs to send it to 2OT. I truly believe he wanted to knock down a 3 and win the game, but when he got fouled, he didn’t want to win on FTs because of the moment. We all blame Jermaine butt for making that awful unwanted foul. Slide with him and contest the shot. It was almost like kobe told him to foul. You know how players talk to each other while guarding or dribbling. Kobe was being himself after Jermaine gave up that play. We talked about that moment, WWE, and the Chappelle show. BUT KOBE BRYANT IS SOMETHING SPECIAL 🤔🤔🤔 WHY 🧐 Because he did it his way 🤔🤔 20 years with the LAKERS & Showed MJ & others that you had to earn the WIN no matter how great you are ! YEAP THAT’S RIGHT 🧐 & when he retired, he showed EVERYONE THAT PLAYED BASKETBALL “ This is how you do it… 60 points & the WIN “🧐 KOBE BEAN BRYANT DID NOT BACK OR BOW DOWN TO ANY BASKETBALL PLAYER OR ANY CHALLENGE THAT CAME HIS WAY🤔🤔🤔 “ KOBE B BRYANT WAS JUST “ SPECIAL “ WHY ? Because he will ALWAYS be in our conversation & compared to many other basketball players 🧐 May KOBE, GIGI & ALL OF HIS FRIENDS REST IN HEAVENLY PEACE ✝️ Not with us but NEVER FORGOTTEN ☮️😉🏀🥇🙏🏾 Ms.Fredi 🌻

One of Jordan's greatest tools was his pumpfake. Not everyone has enormous hands like that, so that's why his pumpfakes are so easy to get fooled by...they're one-handed! Kobe learned that ability about as well as he could with his hand size, but Jordan could literally still play flatfooted with tricks like that.

Vince Carter is full of it. I remember that he made a big deal of not giving his starting position up to Mike. He was even telling the media that he was not giving up his starting position to Jordan because he earned it. He waited until the all star game when they were announcing the starters and decided the last minute to then give Mike the position. So it wasn't a "no brainer" for him

I'm a huge Kobe fan, but let's be real. Nobody but Jermaine O'Neil ruined MJ's perfect ending with his dumbass foul on a ridiculous 3-pt attempt that might've had a 1% chance of going in without even a contest (even with Kobe shooting it). I remember thinking O'Neil had to have 0 basketball IQ at the very moment he jumped with Kobe on that corner 3. If the guy just does literally nothing (or jumps 3 feet away from Kobe), this is a Derek Jeter type finale and everyone is happy. But no, Jermaine had to get involved and ruin this night for everyone lol
