To be fair, Stephen A. and Dan Le Batard were recently on Stephen A's podcast and they had a GREAT back and forth about their disagreements. I get the SAS bashing, but when he does good, you also have to acknowledge it.

Stephen A. does NOT always render respectful retorts either. He can be quite disrespectful even when he is dead wrong, as in the case of Jason Whitlock. He has NO CLUE where Whitlock is coming from but refers to him VERY disrespectfully. So keep your commentary on Stephen A.

defend the honor, that’s cool! the players today stand on the shoulders of those who paved the way to get the game where it’s at today. but to say todays players overall arnt more skilled then players 15-20 years ago is crazy. even more so 20+. there’s plenty of reasons we can attribute to the evolution of hoop. One example is how much more popular it’s become over the years and iron sharpening iron throughout the process. there’s more people reaching for the same goal in being the top 450 in the WORLD. That alone is gonnuh breed better competition and push game to new heights. there’s been decades of this. players today are more skilled than yesterday

@@UPsideD0WN5 I disagree the players nowadays are not as skilled as the players at least 15 yrs ago. It's all 4 show jus stats 2 get money no defense no competitiveness really now there are few exceptions but overall that's false statement I would take Steve Nash John Stockton whoever over guys like ja or dame or even Steph. Jus cuz some1 is tiny bit more athletic doesn't mean they are smarter or better player. I struggle 2 watch a Nba game nowadays ive only watched a few since 2016 they are not more skilled I will stand by that. but dats jus my opinion guys like MJ bird Kobe magic tmac Dirk Malone Barkley Robinson Duncan KG Rasheed Reggie Hakeem Ewing Shaq jus 2 mention a few all those older dudes would destroy these dudes nowadays come on now. Basketball is a team sport and guys nowadays I'd say 85% of em are in business 4 theirselves not winning as a team they just want 2 look good and make money.

Good for you Charles. You deserve the attention. Happy for you man. Arenas is intentionally provocative in my opinion. His comments about Bird are just nuts. Rodman's too but he has always had a problem. I'm more apt to listen to the majority of his opponents on other teams who almost universally happily celebrate Larry. Even those who were schooled talk about how impressive Larry was. That guy's who were young when Larry retired talk about his skill, is often overlooked, aka the Rodney Rodgers story. The totality of the story has far more validity than the voice of one loud mouthed dude. Arenas would have never made as much money as he did without Bird and Magic. I wont go so far as to say the league would have failed but it might have been among the other pro sports leagues that only niche fans watch. There are tons of those in this country. Young folk have no idea how bad the NBA's reputation was in the early 80s. When people say Bird and Magic saved the league, that isnt hyperbole. They elevated the profile of the NBA like no one had seen before. The competition and professionalism was so great that the off court issues was overshadowed to the point of irrelevancy

@DREAMERSPRO Bro, I don't think you will ever understand what Gilbert Arena says because y'all come from 2 different world's. You look at things from a fans perspective he talks about things as thats my peers perspective. Example he said Kobe is trash on defense, you will look at it from how dear you disrespect Kobe because you are a fan. But think about how peers interact with each other. You and your boys playing Basketball and you drop 30 on him you will say "Dawg you trash you can't stop me" because that's how friends talk about each other. As far as him being blunt about the older heads he is also right to a point. Players now are far better than players 30 years ago. Example players 30 years ago could shoot a 3 to save their life we all know that. However their is always something to learn from the older folks.

@@DREAMERSPRO Lastly as for the money you look at Basketball. You mentioned people who sacrificed money but those people are 10 out 2000. Remove your emotions for a second. Nuggets just won a chip Bruce Brown was 3rd or 4th best player on that team. Do you think history will remember him more than Russell Westbrook, James Harden or Chris Paul. Highly unlikely Everyone doesn't have the same goals in life and that's no problem. That's life you don't have the same goals as Stephen A Smith or Skip Bayless. Most of your videos you speak your mind most of Skip Bayless videos he attacks a player because that's what the network wants. Hopefully you see this comment, gotta say I respect what you are doing keep up the good work in 2 - 3 years you'll be one of the highest rated shows.

@@strawhatsanji4985 I think you need to take a step back and look at it. Gilbert can't tell his "perspective" on something and put it out as truth and think he won't be called out for it. Just because I scored a lot of points when I played a TEAM game against a friend doesn't mean I can tell everyone (not other friends) that their trash on defense. Because when someone analyzed that and saw that when we played "against" each other, they rarely guarded me, and when they did I barely scored. And then when we look at the whole game anyone that analyzes it can go back and explain that I may have scored but I shot a low 40% . - That's a bad take. Like when he said he was cooking Stockton. Turns out Stockton cooked him his first year, while Gilbert did start to get the best of him the next year. Again, another bad take. You also can't say players now are far better than 30 years ago because they can do this... Because I can say yea, but they can't do this one thing that guys back then could do.... Obviously the game has changed and "MAYBE" certain skills today are better like Broussard said i.e. dribbling, while they are overall worse in other things like fundamentals and defense. We can acknowledge that it's different era's and the game is now played differently without throwing shade at the other.

MJ fans love to make fun of LeBron fans for praising LeBron in losing efforts. Meanwhile they NEVER stop talking about his game vs the Celtics. The best part about that series is that when the Celtics decided to stop MJ instead of letting him get his, he had 19 points and fouled out. Game 1 -36 shots Game 3 -18 shots Game 2 - 41 shots What happened to Mr. Killer Instinct? Why did he only take 18 shots in 39 minutes?

Anyone from any level from observing and analyzing professional sports can misinterpret or misunderstand any matter at hand. It's how we handle these matters when we're called out and you handled yours with maturity and professionalism and this is why I choose to listen to your channel. I don't always agree with Gilbert on many things, but it was a breath of fresh air to see your voice reaching out to people like him and I would believe to many others that you may not be aware of. You've now been in this business long enough to experience and process these feedbacks and your handling it well. Gilbert has a way of getting under my skin, but he was very professional in how he handled himself in this matter as well.
