The worst thing is when your boss only bullies you personally and behaves like a complete sweetheart to everyone else. No-one believes you when you try and speak out, you feel completely isolated and like a pariah.

Bully bosses are no different that other bullies. They're secretly inferior and want to feel powerful To hide their insecurities. These are the bosses who were bullied in high school and no one wanted to be their friend. As a result, they seek revenge by abusing power and becoming bullies themselves to blow off steam from their own tramatic past.

My child care director is very bullying. No one can speak up. If speaking up, you guarantee your job is done. When employees go to the office, they will be gone and no one knows what is going on. She has abused so much her power. Once she doesn't like an employee, she picks a person small things until quit.

Unfortunately many people are promoted to manager and lack the skills to manage effectively. Then, the companies that promoted them do not provide management coaching (some of what we do at GILD) or training to help them grow into their position, and *poof* poor management style and unhappy employees. It's sad, and OH, SO PREVENTABLE!

What if your boss owns his own company? He sometimes nice and the. other times finds anything to put me down no matter how hard I work. Ive never had this problem Ive always been a hard working it affects my confidence tremendously. And its confusing because he can be nice and apologies sometimes , but then he goes back to being a bully.

I left my first corporate job recently, I worked there for 3 years. I have no more savings. No money to live off and pay the bills or we are homeless. Unfortunately I'm stuck looking desperately for another job. Nobody wants me, and the only jobs available are 12-14hr jobs in warehouse or call center, never touching those jobs. I just can't take it or I just wouldn't want to live anymore. I'm just stressed and anxious 24/7. I have a chronic illness which makes everything harder. Nobody cares. I've tried everything possible to make money, even stupid things. I run multiple online businesses, have multiple KZbin Channels, I spent all my savings on trying to become a voice actor, which was my passion and the most i've made in a year is $30. I worked so freaking hard, even during my full time job all I did was grind outside of my job. I can't do this anymore, how do people live like this. My whole family thinks i'm a disgrace as I left a good paying job, but it was super toxic and stressful. Constant deadlines, daily meetings and managers making you stay unpaid overtime. I'm only 23. I can't do this for another 40+ years. I wish I knew what to do... I'm burned out too, all I do is voice acting for free and I'm too busy nowadays to even take on small paid jobs. Just sick of this bullshit society.

I reported once and later on he retaliated from my complaint. Should of documented all of this to build a case but damn either way the place was unprofessional it was minimum wage but not I know what to expect later on....

Not sure if my boss is a bully boss. She wants me to send her the following emails every day: -@ start of day, what is my plan for the day -@ the end of the day, what did I get accomplished today -Also an email every time I get a task done. She repremanded me for answering my work phone after hours, We are NEVER EVER to do ANYTHING work-related while not on the clock. HOWEVER, she also called both my phones 4 times each, and called me three times on Teams, then send me a nasty email about being unavailable to my team, etc. But she called during my lunch break, when I was off the clock. She was great to work with - but turned into Attila the Hun when they gave her the title "temporary supervisor." I can't do any reporting anonymously - she and I are the only ones at the satellite office in our city.

When I signed on for this role I was under the impression that I would be in a particular role with the manager who hired me and that was changed on me fairly quickly. I’m now off the team I was originally supposed to be on. My boss who hired me now finds every opportunity to rub it in my face that I’m now on a worse team, not as important, making way less money, excludes me from all office events, speaks about benefits and trips and all the great things his team is doing in front of me and my co-workers. While making snide comments towards me and about me. I’m starting to feel maybe I’m being too sensitive but it’s really starting to bother me and I’m not sure what to do.

Lots of things are changing these days - COVID-19 related, of course! See if you can shift your mindset to find fulfillment in. your tasks (laborious tasks provide mindfulness opportunities - so perfect!) and not self-identification based on external factors. That links to pride, and pride is rooted in things we cannot control - so is a very risky place to find fulfillment and meaning.
