Gill nets are the worst! Hampering the seal from swimming, feeding, even breathing. So glad you spotted this one and saved her. And the chunky one caught by Wally can now get even chunkier. Well done OCN and thank you!

More great rescues. As Naude was paddling in, Denzil could be seen paddling at at least twice the rate Naude was. The Flash is not only fastest on land, he's fastest in a kayak. ❤🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻😊

Yes they do, though some females will leave for weeks at a time to go fishing while some of the mature males will spend months away fishing.

Wow, the "angry seal" looked strong and healthy despite being caught-up in that entanglement which must have been causing the seal serious harm and distress. The entanglement certainly looked tight. Reassuringly the seal still had a lot of strength which can indicate that it should make a good recovery. Great work guys on your efforts.

I liked the 2 nets, if you din't capture the seal on the first try, switch to use the net in your other hand for the quick 2nd capture attempt which was successful. You guys are getting this capture, disentangle, release, down to a fine art!
