I love these most when after some distance the seal seems to realize he/she is not being chased, and looks back. Also the "growls of relief" when running away are amongst my favorite sounds.

Thorman: Seal grumbles and gutterals probably mean something in seal language. Perhaps the seals consider making sounds at people some kind of an interspecies formality, since humans frequently make sounds at each other. 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣

What a year you had! Some favorites: seal buddies to the rescue, the flippers on the "cutest seal ever", the live premiere Q&A video at CC, the angry seal (Tony: "Well let's move then..." Naude: "...before he attacks and kills us all..."), Tony falling over when the seal surprised him... and on and on. Let's not forget the humpback whale and the Mola mola rescues. What a fantastic year for you OCN. You have become more and more experienced and the teamwork has been more and more solid. Im glad about the return of Tony and the inclusion of wally. Favorite moment is probably the impressive work with the beached sunfish. That creature was huge. 2022 will be great with OCN on the beaches.

Naude and Tony also successfully helped a beached whale return to the ocean. 🐋 Took four hours, and it is rare that one can be saved.

I don't tell you guys often enough how much I appreciate all you do for the marine wildlife in Namibia. Always on call, ready to drop whatever you're doing at a moment's notice, willing to change your plans... if there is a seal, or a whale, or a pelican, or a cormorant, or a turtle, or even a Mola mola in trouble, you are there. If karma counts for anything, you have accumulated enough on the positive side to last several lifetimes. A lot of people talk about making a difference in this world, but you actually go out and do something to make the world a better place. Thank you for having the courage of your convictions and following your hearts. Your compassion and dedication are amazing and anyone who watches the rescue videos can see how awesome you are. You are making a difference in your part of the world and you seem to have so much fun doing it (well, most of the time, when there is none of your blood involved). I hope others follow your example and do what they can wherever they are. You are all heroes in my book.❤
