Rashad isn't hating. Just the truth. To average only 4 pts in college. But shine in combine..who gives AF. In game action determines if youre like that.
@oreoblast20128 ай бұрын
The scouts care. Plenty of teams try to draft for upside. That's the whole point. The college game doesn't always translate directly to the league. A la mccants. If it was an elite draft class where there were a bunch of names from college then maybe college numbers are the determining factor but that's not the case this year. Half the college names in the draft are saying they have skills they DID NOT use in college like Cline talking about being able to hit the 3.
@oreoblast20128 ай бұрын
Of all of them mccants should know an “elite” college career doesn't necessarily translate to the league. He literally stayed and got a worse draft position. And Brandon knows about having to perform for the combine to improve his spot
@dyanigraham80218 ай бұрын
There’s plenty of players that were drafted averaging 5 points, some people excel in the nba instead of college, we see every year players who come out of college and can’t translate to the next level. Combine is where you can show you can play.

The NBA Draft Combine is an event that features a mix of the best potential future NBA players and other talented prospects who need to prove their worthiness of being drafted. Here’s a more detailed breakdown: Top Prospects: The combine includes some of the top prospects who are expected to be high draft picks. These players often participate to showcase their skills, athleticism, and physical measurements, solidifying their status and possibly improving their draft stock. Potential and Fringe Players: The combine also invites players who are on the fringe of being drafted or who might be selected in the later rounds. These players have talent but need to demonstrate their abilities in a competitive environment. They undergo various drills, scrimmages, interviews, and physical tests to prove they are worthy of a draft selection. The combine serves multiple purposes: Evaluation: It allows NBA teams to evaluate a large group of prospects in a controlled setting. Comparison: Teams can compare players directly against each other in terms of physical attributes, skills, and in-game performance. Interviews and Medicals: Teams also conduct interviews and medical evaluations, which are crucial for assessing a player's readiness and fit for the NBA. Overall, the NBA Draft Combine is essential for both top-tier prospects looking to secure their place and lesser-known players aiming to make a strong impression and boost their draft prospects.

he just proving his point that going back to school can have just as much of a negative impact as well as positive impact. going back to school is always a gamble. it gives scout just as much opportunity to be critical of your flaws as it does to show your strengths. the point Gil is making is that scouts dont know what you dont show them and by being young with less minutes on the court they have to make decisions based off your stats and test which Bronny did pretty good at during the combine.

He's just seems obsessive over it because that's what he's seeing, and he makes a decent point about wanting younger, no one buys a full grown animal as pets often, they usually want a puppy they can train... Doesn't mean you'll train it correctly

Listen bronny came in swole in no time at all his combine numbers were good he did the best in the combine and shots weren’t really falling because I think he rushes them in live game when his shot is more a slow release type of shit hence why he hit a ton in the shooting drills that will take some time to fine tune but he can shoot he can defend if he hits a few more shots he is at 20 points I think he has the ability to score he just I think has been drilled into his head to play the right way so he does he’s gonna get you the rock he will be a good player in my opinion maybe he isn’t done growing and will get a few more inches in height and be 6’4-6’5

That it was 3.5 v 1 shows that the group of Gil, Brandon, and the lady didn't have strong arguments and needed each other to team up against Rashad Mccants. Whenever you have such lopsided numbers in a debate shows something is off.

@@thetruthendofstory It wouldn't be a debate show, if Rashad didn't have the balls to take the alternative stance. He knows the show needs it, but some of the panelists don't understand how these shows work. Or that the one alternative viewpoint can be the true one.

The NBA combine is done twice. Bronnie didnt play in the combine with lottery picks. His college performance is a better indication of his actual ability than a mediocre performance against non lottery picks(78 players). 4-10 isn't impressive in one game Brandon went straight from high school to overseas to the NBA. Of course, he's going to devalue college. Lexi is tripping. Josiah is just there. I'm losing a bit of respect for Gil's podcast because of the obvious effort to convince us that Bronnie James(a 6'2 guard who wasnt the best player on a below average college team) would be seen as a NBA prospect and invited to the combine if his dad wasnt LeBron James. I've never seen people make a big deal about NBA combine performances like this over a mediocre college freshmen basketball player. Sidenote: Gil kept bringing up Bronnie and his vertical. Prior NBA combines always had a few smaller guards than Bronnie with 40 plus verticals. One was 5'11 Shane Larkin whose vertical was higher than Bronnie. He currently is one of the best players in the EuroLeague and was a little used backup in a short nba career. Bronnie is not better than Shane. The level of capping in this segment is astronomical.
