This movie is in my top 5 all time. The source material used is something that I really enjoy in a film/show. I love the gothic undertones, the dark humor, and again the source material. It hits the coffin on how tragic and dramatic the sisters experience is. I’m also always open to believe in the chance of werewolves actually being real. So, here’s to hoping.

I watched this film with my older sisters years ago, and it has been and remains my favourite childhood movie. As I’ve gotten older older it anger me that it is ignored for just how fantastic and unique the story is. I love this movie and perhaps oddly it helped me through some tough years

I'm so happy that Shout/Scream Factory finally gave this film the special edition it deserved. *Ginger Snaps* is a phenomenal film, and is one of the most tragically underrated and overlooked horror movies of the past twenty years. It deserves far more love. Fingers crossed that one day, maybe we'll get similar Collector's Edition re-releases for *Ginger Snaps 2* and *Ginger Snaps Back.*

I love Ginger Snaps 2 just as much as Ginger Snaps, despite its further levels of bleakness, that's what I like about it. Also, young Tatiana (Orphan Black) as Ghost is pretty creepy. I did a cover of the theme recently too.

Absolutely in the top five werewolf movies of all time. I can't believe it's been 22 years . . . feels like yesterday. Emily Perkins and Katharine Isabelle rocked the hell out of this! Three more years and it'll be a certified classic. Brilliant film. Not to be missed.

@@TheHellboy1980 An American Werewolf in London The Howling Ginger Snaps Silver Bullet Dog Soldiers I've been pretty unimpressed by most of the newer werewolf movies I've seen, but four good ones that come immediately to mind are Howl, The Wolf of Snow Hollow, The Wolfman, and Late Phases. I think a werewolf movie is one of the hardest kinds of genre films to get right . . . or should I say the easiest to get wrong?

Likewise, I've always wished they would have left out the horrible stop-motion werewolves at the very end of The Howling. Not a dealbreaker but still a glaring lapse in a movie with fantastic prosthetic effects.

Breaking news, Ginger Snaps is now being rebooted as a TV series!!! (Edit) But there's a problem with rebooting this. READER DISCRETION IS ADVICED. In 2006, there was a terrible crime in Canada, (same country which made these movies) involving a 12 year old goth girl, Jasmine Richardson, obssesed with dark culture, who, seduced by a man who claimed to be a 300 year old werewolf, murdered her entire family so they could be together forever. The boyfriend was sentenced to life in prison, while she was released in 2016. This reboot could bring back bad memories to the canadian community who lived where this happened. Also, I'm currently having issues with My parents as I'm a huge fan of the movie Ginger Snaps and I have a huge crush on the movie's actress who playerformed the younger sister, and they think I'm insane for being in love with a werewolf goth girl much older than me, just don't want them to think of me as a genderbent Jasmine Richardson.

I was 13 when this movie came out and accidentally one day stumbled on it while channel surfing. It instantly became one of my favorite horror films. Even got my mother to watch it and she loved it also 😅. We later watched Snaps 2 and Snaps Back together when they were released. Good times and memories.

Just learned of this movie a couple weeks ago and ordered it. Im pretty much the same age as these actors in it are now.. but man this movie really has a way of putting what these girls were going through right in yur own head. Perhaps as a guy thinking back to this time period and earlier i found at least a couple aspects i could relate to in their story. Hard to put to words.. but this movie kinda has hit me differently than any other "horror" movie. This film was definitely deeper than anything else ive ever seen. I wished id heard about it 20 years ago.

Jennifer's body is about a girl who is sacrificed and comes back as a demon, it also deals with a complicated relationship/romance between two best friends, this is about a sister who turns into a warewolf, so what's the similarities exactly?

@@KanadeLapis the similarities are two young women who's bodies changed and made them have urges to eat people and they're both attractive and have cool vibes that were common for that time. There's also a secondary character (ginger's sis and that blonde girl from Jennifer's body) who are trying to understand what's happening and to help. Just because one is a demon and one is a werewolf doesn't mean the movies aren't similar or that the creator of Jennifer's body didn't get some inspiration from Ginger snaps. Your comment made it sound like people who think it's similar have sth against him "copying" elements from the movie, but I think it's cool he found sth interesting and made a little different version of it. It's dumb to claim there are no similarities between the movies, when clearly there are, regardless of Jennifer's body being inspired by ginger snaps or not
