@miketyson1717
@miketyson1717 Жыл бұрын
Innocent until proven guilty is the cornerstone of our justice system... bail is part of that, where people aren't guilty until proven so. People, regardless of finances, are entitled to bail and that's the way it should be in even more cases than it already is. There's nothing that suggested this felon was likely to commit murder, it just happened to be while he was on bond. Plenty of people accused of domestic violence get released on bond and don't commit any other acts of violence ever. This particular offender is scum and should rot for his crimes, I'm simply saying we can't condemn the system for not stopping him. In essence I'm saying that even more people should be released while in pretrial status. Only when there's a risk of flight or evidence that the public safety is at risk should there be a pre trial offender refused bail. Bail is just supposed to ensure public safety and ensure the defendant returns to court to face judgement. Many accused are innocent. Many accused have inflated charges when the police don't like them. Court is supposed to find fact and not allow police abuse, not allow punishment to innocent accused offenders.

Where is the accountability for those folks , it’s been going on way to much in this country, if your action as a judge is to release them with low bond and one of the murderous thugs harms or kill’s someone in your family, they should get to sue them in a wrongful death suit , it’s there actions alone that put them back out in society to prey on there next victims , but they just get to keep stuffing there bank accounts full

I listened to his impact statement about 2 months ago (maybe longer?) and what I remember most is how captivating he was as he spoke and how salient his love and respect for his mother was. I think most of us are wonderful and special in our own ways, and what I loved about his statement is how you could tell he genuinely he thought his mother was on a higher level of special and wonderful. He really had a ton of respect for his mother and she really did sound like a very special and great human. It was a beautiful statement about a very great person. His statement obviously made a particular impression in my memory.

I’ve always felt Miss Woods was culpable in this case. I don’t know how she can go on tv crying about how he is mentally Ill etc!. She knew this when she bailed him out, then knowing he had run the mother of his child over gave him the keys to the SUV he had used to run her down. I don’t know how she can keep a straight face and cry for him. At least he is still here. I wouldn’t normally blame a family member for the actions of another but it just blows my mind how she ignored all these red flags and now cries for him!

What totally nullifies the 'disorder' 'mentally ill' 'condition' excuses is.......HE REPRESENTED HIMSELF AS HIS OWN ATTORNEY. How in hell did he expect to get off by 'reason of mental defect' as Judge Dorow explained, when he was 'sane' enough to act as his own counsel ???? @Phoenix Rising And she still continues to make excuses for him and blames mental illness for what happened. Why didn't she ever get him help instead of enabling him to continue committing crimes? In one of her many interviews she goes on and on about how Erica lied about him trying to run her over! The fact that the policemen saw tire tracks on Erica's left pant leg meant nothing! Not only did she bail him out but she continued to allow him to drive her car, the very car that just 19 days before killing and injuring 67 people at the parade with, he used to try and run over Erica, the mother of one of his children! In my book, that makes her guilty too!

I hope all of these awesome people don't even bother to show up for Brooks' statement and whoever else is going to waste their breath on behalf of him. No one should listen. Walk out. Return when it's Judge Dorow's turn.

He had such a long history of crime before this and a lot of them are violence against women and got a minor pregnant and he only got a few days in jail for each crime. It’s infuriating. He got away with so much that he thought he could get away with a lot more. The system has really failed the victims and their families. This is what happens when we care more about the rights of criminals more than victims.

100% agree with him about mommy’s enablement! Disgusting! Justice is broken in wvery single way. How dare she give him back the car he used to run over the kother of his child so… he could do it again and he did!! Outrage is not enough. Change your government’s diapers!!

This man spoke so eloquently and lovingly about his mother. He presented his comments in such a dignified manner and it had a powerful effect on anyone listening. Brooks responded as always, rolling his eyes. However, no one really wanted to focus on Brooks because this was truly about the victims and what this man was saying. He was right, long after Brooks is in prison, he will be forgotten by the families of the victims. They will only remember their loved ones and that is the only thing that matters.

I absolutely appreciated this gentleman’s statement as Brooks sat there looking like a volcano with clothes on ready to erupt. I’m sorry for his loss as well as the others and he nailed it when he addressed Mr Brooks, his mother & the Milwaukee D.A. John Chisholm for their ignorance in this matter.

It's fascinating to watch an entitled smart aleck in plain display. He has taken spotlight, and takes a bow in this role. There is a set of rules in prison. There is a level of honor. Ethics. Right. Wrong. Enforcers. Many are there for drug related activities. Many did violent crime. A line separates within those walls. The defenseless. Not a peer. Not a drug deal gone awry. Old people and children. Many miss their families. Their families are cherished. They kept their crimes away from the loved ones. I know because my Dad volunteered in prison. To support . Help them straighten out. Keep in touch w family. When this aberration goes inside, many will not get this senseless murder. Here was not avenging. It was random. No purpose. They won't coddle him. He goes to the bottom of the totem poll. Nobody will align. There are no women to manipulate. These guys won't flinch.

What about that b******* that he pulled about the recall on his mom's vehicle during his closing argument I think he said it would have been the brakes bro that doesn't have anything to do with your foot being on the gas neither by the way I'm sure after hitting one person that car would slow down at least enough to not kill anybody else if the brakes went out
