I think half of it is game knowledge. Knowing exactly how to rip apart a boss as efficiently as possible automatically halves the fight. You don't need to take time healing and every opening is exploited to the greatest extent, naturally it'll look way easier.

2:52:41 Fun thing about messmer's spear is that, at least when I did my playthrough, the poise damage on the r1s was so insane that it would permanently stagger most npcs, and get pretty quick poise breaks on bosses I think with the r2 being a gimmicky throwing attack that has barely any poise damage, they decided to amp up the r1s

Hippo got shadow patched four days after the dlc release. When I was fighting him on day 2 you would dodge it’s grab attack and then get tagged by an invisible hitbox behind its ear and teleported into its mouth. I still have ptsd when I fight it.

Whips in general are really, really good in Elden Ring. As long as you can live with no critical attacks the speed, range and flinch on them is brutal. Flinch as hard as a greatsword with much faster attacks.

IDK if you'll see this gino but if you wanna do a runthrough with the sekiro tear try using a light greatsword with cragblade or the stance ash. Since everything combos on a light greatsword it makes for a interesting gameplay loop. I used the blade of mercy, two hand talisman, multi hit, and guard counter talismans. Its a super fun build!!

Used to always be a str/faith user & always had trouble with Mohg. Finally started a proper dex/bl build yesterday & annihilated him in less than 20 sec, I think it’s my new favorite build:) The biggest downside is that it usually takes so long into the game to get a good dex weapon.

The point is not to be optimal, but to choose the stat that takes the fewest levels to get to 99 dex. That way the other stats get less to do.

About the Guardian Swordspear on lightning - the dex scaling on keen is so much better than on lightning that even the Thunderbolt AoW does more damage on keen even though it is explicitly a lightning skill. About the Leda fight in the DLC - you can control who comes to the fight by how you interact with their quest lines. Basically, being nice to everyone when progressing their quest lines leaves you with a 4v3 fight - Thiollier and Ansbach help you, while Leda and Dane have Moore and Freyja on their side. Being an ass, however, can put the odds to 2v3 with you having the numbers advantage. Ignoring everyone, I think makes another 2v3, but you're at the disadvantage - you don't have Thiollier and Hornsent is backing up Leda and Dane. Let's start with Ansbach since his is the most complicated - If you help him uncover the details of what Miquella was up to with Mohg in the Shadow Keep and side with him in the Leda invasion, he will be summonable to help you. Leda seemingly only targets Ansbach if you've already helped her kill Hornsent so if you stop her murderhoboing at Hornsent, and you've helped Ansbach in the Shadow Keep, he still shows up to help you (this is what happened to me). If you kill him with Leda or don't help him, you still get an assist, but it will be that Rando Sanguine Noble. Most of the NPCs can only show up as an enemy. For Freyja, you need to play carrier pigeon for her and Ansbach as progressing his Shadow Keep investigation leads to him giving you a message for Freyja where he informs her of the "Revive Radahn" plan. As a Redmain she wants her lord to return, so she decides to back Miquella. Moore, you just have to tell the obvious nice option after Miquella's Great Rune breaks, and he will be on Leda's side. But if you then make him invade you by killing the non-hostile bug guys who give you cockbooks, you can make him too dead to participate in the gank. Hornsent works a bit backwards, as progressing his quest line removes him from the gank squad. If you beat Messmer with a summoned Hornsent (not sure if Hornsent needs to survive) and talk to him after the fight, he will invade you around the stairs that lead to Romina at which point he no longer wants to join the Gank Squad and you can kill him. Thiollier is always an ally as he is never targeted by Lady Serial Killer and I don't think you can progress his quest line in a way that makes him not show up to help you with the Gank Squad.

Ansbach is actually the easiest one to get in the leda fight, as long as you give him the ritual scroll (exhaust his dialogue when you do to be sure) he'll join you, thiollier is more "complicated" because of how big a detour it is to get to st Trina Otherwise it's an easy 3v2 Kill hornsent by either means Tell Moore to stay out of it Ignore Freya Do thiolliers quest Give ansbach the rite scroll

Some people seem to think you have to help him against Leda for his assistance when that appears to only be the case if you've helped Leda kill Hornsent.

I am officially requesting a pata playthrough. I dicovered that the one hand charged r2 does like 50 plus poise dmg or something ridiculous. The dual wield charge r2 doesnt even comepar. So i go with cragvlade and a ton of crit stuff. Plus thw pata has 110 crit. It really does rival star fists rn. But its just over looked bc everyone dual wields them try it out you wont be dissapointwd i promise

random thought i had during the rellana fight: i wish that for her boss weapon that they had gone with an aow that was more like her 2nd phase combos than having what amounts to a 2nd sword of night and flame. it would've been nice if the aow self buffed the weapons, and if the aow utilitized both magic and fire at once. you could still make it a stance with 2 different combos, and i think it would've felt more seamless, going from the weapon's standard move set to the aow and back. and the standard move set lends itself well to multi-hit, but the aow really doesn't, so it feels clunky to optimize. i also feel like the aow is still underpowered compared to SoNaF: when i was playing around with it (i dropped it to myself using cheat engine) on a fresh character with just the stats required to wield both weapons, SoNaF just seems to hit harder.

I saw some people saying that Rykard's earthquake attack is undodgable, but since that's completely incorrect I just wanted to point out how. You sprint to the side and jump. That's it, that's all you need to do. It's super easy to dodge unless your in the middle of an animation
