When you panic, especially in the dark, your mind will play tricks on you. If you ever have night terrors or sleep paralysis you will understand. The guy in the Paris catacombs pauses and looks in that room. There is a dark portion that you can see and in a panic state he could've easily imagined something moving in the darkness and causes more panic. Leading him to do illogical things and make bad decisions and run away. With a flashlight underground, darkness is behind you and around you and you can imagine crazy sights and sounds. That's my opinion anyway. If it wasn't fake.

Me and a couple of friends were ditching school and we went to some woods where there's a river that forms several natural pools, to swim. The trails are pretty much invisible, but we know our way around those woods, except one day we decided to venture further up the river to see a very tall and powerfult waterfall which has a much deeper pool and high places to dive from. It is impossible to follow the margin of the riven so we followed what appeared to be the trail. At a certain point we realized we were lost, and we didn't know how to go back. Our reaction was similar to the guy in the Paris catacombs, we just run aimlessly, completely disoriented. So much so that even though each one took off to one direction we constantly me one another while running, exchanged glances in which we could se the desperate look of an animal facing impending doom. I won't tell the whole story, but it serves as an illustration that panic like the man's in the catacombs is real and can come out of nowhere. Something in your brain just flips off to a different mode of operation, and the person you know as _yourself_ goes somewhere else while this little beast takes over

Chimerism101 It's a sad long story, we cried, we were grounded after, rain partially destroyed our school material, I lost a few privileges with my mom that I would never get back. The short version of the story is: after wandering a lot we were able to see a small farm and once we were among the crops, some dogs attacked us, we kept them away, they weren't very big or brave, eventually a boy found us because of the noise. He was son of the farmer and he was kind enough to take us to his house. We waited there with the rest of his family until his father came, then after a long ordeal to make his car start, the farmer drove us to a dirt road and then to the bus stop. We vowed to go back there to thank him, but we never did. This is the short version of how we got out.

The man, thinking this might be his son, hired Eugene to bring up the body. Eugene stated he had to haul the body out while climbing precariously through "vents' and hoisting the body after him on a makeshift gurney. The body turned-out to be that of a woman. Eugene is actually full of it, this never even happened, nor was anyone's son missing at that time. He named his fake c orpse Masha because he "borrowed" ::cough:: plagiarized ::cough:: an old legend that floated around since 1971 about a girl named Masha, Here is the story: Odessa, Ukraine (USSR) Date: summer 1971 Time: daytime A young woman named Masha (about 30 years of age) traveled from Crimea to an excursion to the city of Odessa; one of the important places of interest there where the famous Odessa underground catacombs (created during the construction of the city, when huge numbers of rock and stones were extracted from the area) which are found throughout most of the city. Important detail, Masha was not married and she was very tall, almost 2 meters and robustly built. The excursion was dangerous, since the underground labyrinths were intricate and complicated. There had been numerous cases of missing or lost tourists, so the guides strictly instructed the excursionists to move in chain groups holding well lit lights or candles. Their target site was the location of a famous partisan squadron hideout during the Second World War. Masha, being the tallest of the group was at the end of the "chain". Suddenly as it seemed to her, she heard what sounded like a child weeping in one of the side passages.
