stop asking me to make videos about ever after high. same with the winx club. no ifs, ands, or buts about it. i have said numerous times i dont care to watch, so quit trying to change my mind.
i make it clear what my niche is. literally say what it is in the beginning of my videos: nostalgia, family, and children’s entertainment. When i say nostalgia, that means nothing in the older demographic past the year of 2015 (because that is nostalgic for me)

love this!! just letting ppl know (as someone on the spectrum) the term aspergers and the "high functioning"/"low functioning" labels are very ableist and is a very outdated way to assess autism. it seems to other people on the spectrum and has antiquated "good stereotypes" that people who are "high functioning" are savant and the good type of autistics and the latter end are "charity cases" who everyone should pity. not to even mention it's origins were founded within nazi germany.

I agree wholeheartedly. While "Boy Meets World" DID air on the Disney Channel, it first aired on ABC Family, now Freeform. Towards the end of its run, many of the storylines were darker and more mature, and you couldn't call it a kids' show anymore. "Girl" might have benefited more had it been broadcast on ABC from the beginning, so that families could watch together and discuss the topical issues at the centre of each episode.

I feel like farkle could've benefited from being an autistic character, he has a lot of characteristics and I (being autistic myself) really related to him especially in that one episode about him being diagnosed where he talks about how he feels. It could've added more depth to the character but no, the creators didn't want to deal with a disabled character so they threw that idea in the trash.

Oh my god seriously! I couldn't continue the series because of how insufferable she was as a character. The final straw with me was how she kept calling Maya a bully for seemingly no reason in this one episode..Rileytown was it..? She even coned her and was giving her all sorts of attitude. Even when the reasoning behind it was revealed and everything was resolved later on it still just made no sense to me as to why she would treat her friend that way when she could've done that to the actual off screen bully who was messing with her.

There was also the episode where maya was good at art and Riley wasn’t, but the one episode where Riley is truly in the wrong is when maya’s dad comes back. Riley tells her that it’s time to forgive him…… I kept thinking why does the dad deserve forgiveness, maya could have talked with him and still not forgive him. You can’t just immediately forgive someone who abandoned you, it’s gonna take some time. Plus now that the dad has a stable, good life, and he finally wants to talk to maya, maya won’t care cause it would have been too late.

In my state (VA) and the schools (e.s., m.s., and h.s.), it's allowed for parents to be teachers at their kid's school but the parents can't be their kids' teacher. It's also to prevent nepotism or favoritism cause it could really happen and sometimes when a kid has a parent or a adult guardian they're close with as a teacher in their class, it's really expecting of a kid to be the most favored student and get away with anything and be treated positively different by other students.

38:07 I can confirm New York (even New York City) is one of the most diverse states in the US. I live very close to the capital of New York (Albany) and go to the mall there often and holy moly there was a lot of people of different races there! There's white people, black people, asian people, hispanic people, native american people, pacific islander people, and even mixed race people and interracial couples all over that mall! Girl Meets World did a terrible job with diversity despite it taking place in one of the most diverse states in the US!

Did y’all ever notice that Ze was absolutely nowhere to be found in any of the episodes that didn’t include him? Like they didn’t even have him in class, he was GONE a lot of the time. Like they had a whole episode about people’s cultures and backgrounds, and all they did was force Riley to have a culture instead of making the other characters the forefront. The only time I remember them bringing in Zè at all was for him to say he was from Africa, and that was literally it 😐 I also didn’t like the episode where Maya was changing and doing good things like getting A’s on her assignments, and Riley could not accept that for the life of her. She just kept telling her that it wasn’t her and that she was supposed to be a bad girl. Like she wasn’t happy about her friend succeeding in life….There were so many backwards things in this show that you don’t notice until you’re older💀

Riley became insufferable when they reached high school. One thing I hated was that episode when the bullies put them “in the hole”. Lucas said he didn’t want to be treated poorly and had bigger goals like playing football. Riley’s response to that after giving the bullies the benefit of the doubt, was saying he had no chance at making the team. That made me so mad and the episode never acknowledged that what she said was wrong

I love Sydney to the Max. Because as someone with a single dad who's mother passed away. It was one of the first shows family dynamics I could actually relate to. A father and daughter dynamic focus finally was something I could see as someone who that's a big part of my life! However I don't think they ever would have been allowed to do something like that, and tackle death, when girl meets world aired maybe I'm wrong tho.

yess i was watching this show when it first came out and started to kinda fizzle out of it after s1 or s2 i can’t remember. i’m halfway thru the vid so u might bring this up idk but in the first episode there was this moment when maya set the sprinklers off in the classroom so everybody had to leave obviously. so in the hallway mr matthews was like “why would u do that” or smth and she goes “i have nobody at home who helps me with my homework😕” and walks away. like wtf that have to do with flooding the classroom.

Yeah girl meets world could have been on another network like abc, freeform, or even Hulu. Yes, your right if the show had been on another network then maybe it would have had success. However, the girl meets world characters were literally just carbon copies of the original boy meets world characters (maya is Shawn, Riley is Corey: couldn’t stand either of them both of them were annoying, Lucas was topanga, Frakle was minkus, and smackle- I can’t stand her name, wish it was different was literally Eric or jack, and zay (uhmeer) was Angela-which you already know sucked for his character, given how boy meets world treated Angela/Trina McGee) Corey was so more annoying in girl meets world than boy meets world! I mean don’t get me wrong, he sucked in seasons 6-7, but in girl meets world- he’s 10 times worse. Topanga’s fine but she literally had some girl’s family thrown in jail or whatever cause the girl didn’t like Riley! 😠 My biggest complaint was how girl meets world treated Shawn, Angela, and Jack. 1) Shawn could have been single. 2) Disrespecting Trina McGee and bringing Angela back made sense to show how Shawn and Angela grew apart…..but then the young fans at the time hated Angela cause apparently maya’s mom had to be with Shawn?! Wtf! 3) Jack losing touch with everyone was touched upon in season 7 of boy meets world, now in girl meets world-he’s lost touch with everyone and is a workaholic. I truly wish Matthew Lawrence had been on girl meets world more cause he could have connected with maya, Riley, etc. Oh also Eric and Jack should have been a couple in girl meets world.

The same complaints that you both made can be said about boy meets world too. During season 7, I truly wanted to see Topanga and Corey struggle more in the beginnings of their marriage. Also when baby Joshua was born, I would have liked for the episode to be longer maybe like a two parter. As a baby born prematurely myself, Joshua should have gone home over the course of four months. I especially wanted everyone to stop treating Eric like a joke. Speaking of Eric, the one thing I hated the most was the Rachel storylines. Eric would go from obsessed to pervert for Rachel’s affection. Rachel’s character honestly was pointless because she was just eye candy for Jack and Eric to fight over. I have a love/hate relationship with the jack character because on one hand, his storyline about finding Shawn was perfect! However, I wish we got to see more of jack’s life and see how Shawn felt about it. In the episode where Chet dies, Jack is trying to help with Chet’s medical bills and Shawn is just angry because he can’t pay for anything. Jack tries to hold it together……but then he asks Rachel for sex?! Are you freakin kidding me!

I agree they were a lot of plot holes in season 7 ( tbh s7 was unnecessary and not needed in my opinion) Eric was def treated like a joke majority is season 7 which sucks because he was an awesome character who could have been flushed out if done correctly but he was just comedic relief and Rachel was a v weird character who if she wasn’t involved with the show it would have been the exact same thing and I wish they would have dwelt more on Angela’s and jacks background and not so much of being Shawn’s brother and his girlfriend and more fleshed out characters

8:27 Riley's kinda a teacher's pet since she's the teacher's kid. However, at the same time, Mincus or whatever that boy's name was with the glasses and always raised his hand for all the answers was pretty much the textbook definition of a teacher's pet. 9:12 Speaking of Teacher's Pet, one of the main characters, Leonard also had a parent as a teacher. Well, that show probably handled the parent being your teacher trope better than this show. The only episode that seemed to be really memorable to me was Girl Meets Sneak Attack and I wanted Missy Bradford to be a main rival to Riley - like, think Kate vs Lizzie, Regina vs Janis, Amber & Ashley vs Miley, and Alana vs Raven. And have Missy have a clique of girls, Marissa and Marisa, who followed her around. That was going to be an episode according to the Girl Meets World Wiki when season 1 first aired and I wanted it so much! And I still think Missy bullied Riley in Girl Meets Rileytown, but the bully was never seen in the end.

I watched this show so much as a kid, it started when I was in 8th grade or so. Now I look back and it gave terrible advice. The college episode was awful. The religion episode was terrible too it just strawmaned and stereotyped both religious and non-religious people. Can't forget when they did a very out of touch "communism" episode that nobody who was the target demographic would even understand.

I completely agree with the show trying to always be so positive even on more mature topics when some topics don't need it. like I remember an early early episode of boy meets worlds Corey made a deal with Feeny that he was going to teach the class for the week and he basically was trying to convince the other kids to read the diary of Anne Frank meanwhile Eric was seeing an asian girl and while they were out she was called a "bad name" and Corey understood that like racism and prejudices still were still happen today then in class he called Shawn what I think is a slur for jewish people (tbh im not sure I watched this episode when I was young and I don't remember what he called him) but when the episode ended it still held onto the messages it was trying to teach - racism still exists and teaching is hard - while also being light hearted. girl meets world never got that balance right and that was their biggest problem

When I first watched the show, I didn't know it was a sequel series. But I did know it was at best a dime-a-dozen mid show with unused potential. Now knowing about the original... Yeah, GMW is POINTLESS (not even in a funny way) and just BAD ! On another point, nice to see two of my favorite pop-culture creators in a collab.

If you want to keep your happy memories of 'Boy Meets World' and the touching ending intact, avoid 'Girl Meets World'. There are only a very few happy or entertaining times on the latter show . Cory and Topanga become very unlikable while Shawn and Eric rarely show up on this show. Seriously, you have to sift through lots of annoying and unfunny stuff to see what few worthwhile moments 'Girl Meets World' has to offer .
