faye carter This product has glycerin in it and glycerin is excellent for moisture retention. With that being said It is great for people with curly hair in general because curly hair needs moisture. I can only speak for my hair but I do not see why it would not help anyone with curly hair. Everyone can have different results.

Stephanie Okay and we love to hear it! Also, on my journey to perfecting a wash and go I learned that my hair has to be saturated in a deep conditioner first (covered for 1 hour). Then after rinsing I drench it in water when applying products (it is best in the shower so the heat can penetrate, but if not done in the shower stay in the bathroom with the door closed so it still stays steamy. I have low porosity hair but my friends with high porosity hair said this technique helped them out as well). 😉❤️💕

charisma luv Awww thanks for your kind words. Remember the hair types are based upon the curl pattern..tight curls =Type4 strands of hair. Looser curls can be Type 2, and Type3....as well as the chart goes with letters ie Type 4 hair can be 4A, 4B, or 4C (with 4C being the coarsest of the 3). Most of us have different hair types all throughout so it is not uncommon for a girl to have mostly type 4 hair with a few type 3 strands or vice versa. Also, the density of the hair as well as the porosity of the hair play a big role in how the hair looks. Yup, definitely an 80’s throwback (Jerry Curl) if you can remember the infamous couch scene in the movie “Coming to America” just let your soul glow 😂 .

Also side note to help with dryness make sure you deep condition your hair every week (conditioning hair masque, with two plastic bags on to lock in the heat and leave in for 1 hour 20-30 mins). Also apply ur products on soaking wet hair and in the shower (as the heat allows the products to penetrate your hair strands better) This did wonders for me in putting the moisture in my hair and keeping it in.😉

interesting technique to go in with curl activator gel them go in with eco next day. I have never tried that because Eco doesn't play well with others if applied at the same time while wet. I am definitely going to try. Luster's S-Curl Texturizer Styling Gel make a bomb twist out. I do have another curl gel that I may try in the same two step process with eco to see if I get similar results.

The S curl is the texturizer. It will come in a box like a relaxer (at least it did 30 yrs ago). What she's using is one of the products to maintain the look. This looks amazing but I'm not a fan of the smell from having my own Jheri Curl all those years ago, lol. But my hair looked exactly like this when I had one so idk why I was surprised it turned out like this. 🤷🏾‍♀️

You can look up the benefits for hair as far as moisture retention on google. Although everyone may have different results, I believe many naturals would benefit from this. It does work well on 4C hair (esp if you 2 atrand twist) but you can't use any other type of curl creme/pudding creme with it. You will have flakes for days! lol. I'm bout to try again after washing/conditioning and just use the SCurl gel and oil.

That first year is the hardest because you have to do so much trial and error to see what works best with your hair. I remember those days lady so I know the struggle. evanm076 Awww thank you so much! I wash my hair every week now along with a deep conditioning. When I made this video I washed it every 8/9 days so it unfortunately did not go past the 8 days before I had to wash it. I would like to note that my hair looked the exact same after 5 days and started being frizzy around day 8 (including me working out at the gym) but I just needed to wash it to stick to my routine.

There needs to be more Categories for different hair types. I would consider your hair type wet with no products a type 3c but who knows they Shove such a wide variety of textures in such small boxes.

I totally agree there is not enough categories nor is there enough representation for all the hair types out there. I recently stated that I no longer will be saying my hair type because the chart just doesn’t make the cut for me. I do have 3C hair as well as 4A and a few 4B strands in the back....this video doesn’t show my hair type fully since the product definitely elongated my hair and I had a slight case of moisture overload so I had to do a protein treatment on my hair to allow my curls to tighten back up . From all the videos I've watched it seems that this works better on type 4 hair with medium to low porosity. I haven't tried it but I will, all my wash and go's have been a real mess.

Sharonda M My hair was clammy after the Jheri curl gel was applied and dried. Once I put the eco on top it was better (I think the alcohol in eco styler balances it out and dried it out some). I pretty much kept my hands out of my hair for the duration I had the style (7-8 days). I will say you still feel some residue but it is not like Coming to America when they was on the couch and all left stains where their hair was lol.🤣

Carolina Blue I would use it again. Regularly hmmmmm good question 🤔 I definitely would keep it in heavy rotation every month or two. But I do like using other gels (like mane choice and eco )to get a different curl look as well. If I want a looser curl look I’ll use this. For a firmer hold I’ll use my others. I always dislike the stickiness of gels and glues that I use on my 4C hair that is much tighter than yours. Awww thank you so much for the sweet compliment. This was my first time trying this method so I honestly had no idea how it would turn out. As far as the residue is concerned YES... if you use the Lusters by itself you will feel the clammy feeling. When you apply the eco styler gel on top (or whatever gel you choose) it does help eliminate that clammy residue feeling. Also I made another video comparing this gel with another curl activator and I applied the eco styler on top immediately after without letting the Luster gel dry and my results were completely different. My curls were more of my normal curl pattern (tighter and not as elongated) and I could not feel any residue whatsoever. When I was relaxed I used carefree curl all the time an my hair grew really fast. Being natural my hair totally hates it I haven't tried S curl yet because I feel my hair will hate it too. The secret is when you use the gel you also need to use the spray over the gel it works.
