I think you are remembering wrongly, when the camera pans away, its because its a fixed camera angle where you run around the arena shooting the androids. The curtains close to hide Simone during this portion. She never actually tells you to look at her either, she only says "i'm beautiful" (excluding flashbacks).

For me the point where I realized that the game was way deeper than it appears in the beginning was with the Jean-Paul sidequest quite early on. You do pointless chores and when You are finished 9S comments that this was pointless and exhausting and that he does not get why his followers obey him even if all he does is not care about them and talk about how great he is. And I thought: exactly like Your relationship with "Mankind" and I thought "I guess he will realize that later"

Holy shit man that's awesome
@danielblair21684 ай бұрын
You did those chores (as did I), so maybe we need the lesson too
@Question24 ай бұрын
I dont think the devs intended for it to be a comparison like that because when the aliens arrived, they were slaughtering the androids, so they had no choice but to fight. Whereas the machines in this quest have a choice to not worship Jean-Paul, and they actually went out of their way to do it of their own free will. Its probably meant to be a reference to how some IRL girls simp after jerks who treat them badly. Infact, the quest practically tells you that when 9S does the comparison by wondering if humans did the same thing as well.

@Wacko.Zacho974 жыл бұрын
@Nick Martin If any game is overrated it's the Witcher 3. Typical fantasy RPG with clunky combat, meaningless sidequests and cookie cutter characters with plenty of technical issues. 'A Beautiful Song' was so powerful for me, I love J'nique Nicole's vocals + Okabe's composition which I thougt amazingly reflected the confusion that 2B and 9S are feeling, fighting the corpses of their own companions, as well as the agony that Simone (the opera boss) is feeling as you find out more about her. Automata is one of my favorite games and I loved this video!

I had never heard of this channel. I stumbled on this completely by chance, but i gotta say the editing was gold. It blended so perfectly with every bit of the script. The visuals never detracted from the script, it only enhanced the experience, to the point where i was often actually smiling or outright laughing at what i was hearing and seeing. As for the commentary itself, it's a refreshing new take on the "videogame review" archetype and i like how honest your comments are. It's been a long time since i played Nier:Automata so I already knew pretty much everything there is to know about the game but this perspective of a "backseat gamer" made it interesting again. All in all i just wanna say i really enjoyed the video. Liked and subbed.

Nihilism is the belief that our individual lives ultimately have no meaning at all - it basically forsakes the values of individualism. With this in mind, Nier: Automata is more a story about rising against Nihilism, and finding individualism in a world that forsakes it.
@steelbear20635 жыл бұрын
I think it's about having balls to make choices and take responsibility
@dylanhaugen37395 жыл бұрын
Steel, could of been better said but basically, if life has no meaning than give it a meaning through your actions, if there's no God than stop expecting him to help you and improve the world around you through your own action. Don't let the beliefs of those that came before you stop you from advancing to better future. Basically the game is about taking control of your own destiny, giving meaning to your own existence, and creating hope where there is none.
@ultragamer44655 жыл бұрын
nihilistic optimism you mean
@Hyperversum35 жыл бұрын
@@ultragamer4465 Not even that. The definition of Nihilism is that Life has no intrisic meaning, but this isn't negative, it's a neutral fact. To Nietzsche (arguably, the most influential person ever to use the word nihilism) Nihilism is the source of everything that is good. Understanding that Life has no meaning can lead you to be a depressed lost soul, but only if you miss the fact that this lack of meaning means that you have infinite possibilities to pursue. Essentially "If there is no God, I am my own God". The whole game can be read in this way, with the Aliens and Humans being the outdated values of the old days that are still being used to give a meaning to people (it's quite literally a parallel to how Nietzsche sees religions) and the machines getting out of the Matrix and the Androids capable of giving up their orders are the "Positive nihilists".

@@Joseph-lj4sp As a game, Persona 5 is superior to Nier Automata. in terms of naration Nier Automata is better(just from a pure creativity and phylosophical standpoint). in terms of overall story and characters.. its a tough call. i love bothe equally and both cast grew to my heart so closely. i felt everything in both games. in terms of soundtrack.. uff another tough one. They are very different, Nier automata got the more emotional one.. Persona 5 probably has one of the best battle themes/songs in an RPG ever made and some of the most chill/relaxing tunes ever. both fit their representive atmospheres and moods perfectly. in total I would say Persona 5 is the better game(Should have won GOTY over breath of the wild).. but Nier Automata is the better experience(its more unique)
