Then try out the hard mode and discover that this game has one fatal flaw: the fact that the normal mode is extremely easy and completely trivialized by the healing system, that the hard mode is almost as hard as the extreme mode (on the hardest difficulty you always die in one hit, on the hard difficulty you only die in one hit most of the time), that there is no difficulty in between and that the checkpoints are horrendous, therefore making this game completely unfit for anybody who likes a good challenge.

Similarly A 2 stands for Attack model while the offhandedly mentioned D and H series focuses on defense and healing respectively. There is however a secret model: The E series. Massive spoilers ahead: The E stands for Executioner. 2B is infact 2E. An executioner modal whose sole purpose is to kill other dissenting androids. In 2B's case, she is responsible for killing and observing the scanner type android, 9S.

basically in theory it would seem somewhat like a typical action rpg, with a bit of fan service, and like they said a satisfying first play through. What I see in Nier Automata is what happens when you let a lunatic unleashed. I swear, this game made him look like he taught Kojima basically everything in terms of game development lunacy. And all of this happened because a god from another realm opened a portal to modern day tokyo, only to get killed by a man on a dragon, who then died to missile a strike. little did modern day tokyo know the god was made out of sodium, so when the gods body disintegrated, sodium was released into the air, making a fatal illness spread around the world, which was so bad that man kind made a device that could take a human soul and put it into a clone to wait out the plague and be put back into their human bodies which were defended by androids, but the device was flawed and the clones gained a will of their own and for some reason saw the human souls as dark demon looking ghouls. So all the clones ended up killing the souls they were cloned from, therefore killing themselves, the clone Neir ended up killing the last human, in turn killing himself, leaving only Emile alive, who then had to defend earth from an alien invasion by cloning himself thousands of times, only to eventually go insane, but still kill all the aliens, mean while the androids set up to defend the human bodies gain free will, and start building more of themselves, which then leads to Neir: Automata.

+plaguelock i never said it made me think of things i never did , it's a game that got me with the gameplay , then made me cry with certain scenes after ending B. It felt a lot like evangelion , but with even more powerful scenes and less psychology in it , i loved 9s evolution as a character , 2b's pain over her role as 2e , slowly understanding why the characters acted in a certain way on the first route and even the story of other androids and operators. as i was playing it i grew fond of the characters and when 9s went to mourn 2b or when he found 2b's flight unit i was at least sobbing. Good thing I waited to beat the game first, this was full of spoilers. Um... everything? I was hyped for FFXV for the full 10 years, and gotta say, massive disappointment of a game, was mediocre in just about every way and was very unfinished. Story was awfully paced and not fleshed out in the slightest, world was empty and dull, side quests were atrocious, many characters had no development, only redeeming factors are the alright combat, great music, and the bros were cool, dungeons were alright, and it had a great ending, but sadly wasn't nearly as good as it could've been if the story was properly fleshed out up to that point. Nier Automata has great combat that gets additions throughout to keep it fresh, interesting characters that have really good development for the most part, with a few exceptions, fantastic story that really makes you think and is full of fantastic voice acting and great moments, good side quests that admittedly are mostly fetch quests, but offer very interesting dialogue most of the time, beautiful music that is relaxing and peaceful, or incredibly epic, and possibly the most satisfying epic ending I've ever seen in a video game that did something never done before, and it was just incredible, honestly it gave me everything I wanted from FFXV. If you don't like the gameplay then that's understandable, honestly I'd say it's one of the least great things of the game, which is saying a lot because the combat is great too, and the open world isn't super exciting, but it isn't needlessly large, and has plenty of fast travel points once that becomes available. You should continue playing if you want to see one of the best stories ever, it's worth it. Sorry for the long comment, but you asked lol. Edit: Just saying, I was pessimistic about the game for the first couple of hours as well, mostly because FFXV made me scared of getting too excited about anything, but it proved me wrong in the end, it fulfilled every last bit of potential it had and more. Working on 100% the game, only annoying thing in my way is fishing... might take awhile.

Avadastro I think 3 hours is enough for a game to show what it can be. I don't think the boring shooting tiny balls or gameplay mechanics are going to changes at that point and those were not exactly my cup of tea. Especially with games like BOTW around where it takes 5min to settle in, I don't see why I would commit, just for the story at that point.

If Automata turned you into a Nihilist, you should really play NieR Gestalt. (The first one.) Automata was amazing and had MUCH better game play, but Gestalt's story was much more gripping and brought those feels out more easily. It starts off slow but by the end of the game, you'll be in tears.

Yet Automata is a really flawed game. Tiny openworld, lots of grind and backtracking, the story too pretentious with some of the main twists seen miles away.. Music great and fits the environments but becomes repetitive and gets on your nerves because the game is long and the amount of unique music tracks is quite small. The combat is unfairly hard if underleveled and trivial/boring after sufficiently long grinding.
