Lake District | Bivvy Campout | Hiking | Wild Dunk

Small visit to the Lake District a month back to see an old friend, we spent the duration looking at the beautiful sights of the lakes, walking the Fairfield horseshoe loop, wild swimming, cycling and just enjoying being outdoors especially during these times!
It was my first time walking this scenic route that begins and finishes in the small village of Ambleside which offered stunning views and became very cold towards the summit.
I was overly pleased with my sleep system, winter is a great time of year to test if you're happy with your gear or need to change something and adapt. I used the Rab down sleeping bag along with my Rab Ascent Bivvy bag as it was forecasted for some rain the night we camped out at Grasmere just passed Rydal water.
Always a joy going back to the Lakes and seeing new things, I hope everyone is doing well :)

Only time I've done the Fairfield Horseshoe I did it the other way around. There's a nice 'airy' summit just North of Fairfield called Cofa Pike - well worth a visit. Becks I'm freezin' just watching you take the plunge into Grasmere. Well done girl ! xx

Nice one Becky, really enjoyed that. Your sense of fun and positivity is a breath of fresh air. I did the horseshoe about 3yrs ago only in the opposite direction and it was about 14 miles I think. Fairfield can be a wild and exposed summit. Nice to see you out with your friend. I do worry about you sometimes, on your own. You remind me of a younger version of Marina (Wild She Goes). Beautiful to see where I'm from in a video! Rydal caves are particularly beautiful and pretty easy walking all around Ambleside. Nice to see it through other people's eyes, especially as right now I'm locked down in London, the lack of changing weather in the South always freaks me out!
