Sooyoung definitely killed this performance, but I want to show some appreciation for Seohyun as well: You wouldn't notice on first watching, but half the group was sick that day, Seohyun was basically backing up or covering for all of them. She even sang backup for Taeyeon's high note and completely covered Yoona's part (Yoona lipsynced). It was all done so smoothly though!

Yes this performance was in English because its was the English version of "The Boys" from their English album which they released for the American market. Girl's Generation was actually one of the first Kpop groups to release an album for the American audience and do a promotional press tour in America. You also can find clips of them promoting on morning shows as well such as Regis Philbin's former talk show, which was then called "Live with Kelly" because it was after Regis left the show and before Kelly Ripa had a new co-host. BoA and Girls Generation and Wonder Girls, etc. were some of the very first Kpop groups to release albums fur the U.S. market. They paved the way for groups like BTS and NCT-127, etc.
