This sounds good but it's stupid and don't make much sense in some context. True if your are living by yourself and single it's your responsibility to keep yourself or make yourself happy. But, on the other hand if you are in a relationship with husband, or wife and kids involves, yourself is not enough to keep yourself happy, It would be somewhat a shared happiness.

I’ll be honest Obi, I might be done too. Im in a place in my life where I’m not tolerating an ounce of combativeness or ratchetness, or any women who thinks she can jockey for headship in the home. I came out of a 5 1/2 year marriage with a women who filed for a divorce under the pretenses of irreconcilable differences. She wasn’t happy. I never stepped out on her, no abuse, nothing. I provided a large part of her livelihood throughout med school by the way. This is a women who, when I met her, was devout in her Christianity. She still believes that til this day. I know I’m a good man - people tell me this often. But my experiences with black women growing up, and my ex-wife, gave me a reason to go where I’m celebrated, not tolerated. Im not dealing with it.

What scares you about a woman's love? If I was asked this at 20 yrs old I would say nothing. Today, I would say love doesn't scare me, it's the illusion of love that can be dangerous. When a Black man loves, he loves fully. That gives an unusual amount of power to the woman in whom has his heart. With the wrong person, this can turn a productive man to a broken vessel.

I've been watching these videos for months now and it amazes me how seemingly the vast majority of sisters can take something that should be so simple (not easy, but simple in concept), which is male- female relationships, and make it so needlessly convoluted and complicated. It's like Black men are asking for a flat tax for individuals and corporations and sisters respond with the current U.S. tax code. Just like the tax code is written to mainly benefit wealthy individuals and corporations, western women in general have framed relationships to mainly benefit themselves. It's their opinions and actions which make SYSBM so appealing. To be clear, for those of us who only want Black women, there are Black women ALL OVER THE WORLD! We're not limited to the ones here.

She asked a phenomenal question - "What scares you about a woman's love (Outside of your mother)?" and I don't think the question is ever articulated well enough, especially the way she asked it. The clearest answer is this...it's conditional. The main impetus that it is conditional isn't the issue because we understand that life itself comes with conditions and you learn to operate within them. Men's issue comes in with the fact that unconditional love is reserved for women, children and pets. Your mother (and if you're blessed to have it fathers) love is unconditional regardless of what or who you are. The woman you commit yourself to for life loves you on the condition that you (as a man) provide value to her and her potential offspring. Should you fall below the threshold of what her required output of value should be, then you become compromised and she's looking for the replacement to secure her survival. Operating under the notion that if life happens to a man to the point where your value is compromised and resources become a finite thing, you know eventually that woman could possibly step out or outright leave is a terrifying reality men have to face. This is why every (competent) man is working themselves to the bone to never have to experience that reality if they can avoid it. Even then, the conditions still may not be enough and is why most men just choose to remain alone. They surmise risk isn't worth the reward anymore unfortunately.
@mrd38702 жыл бұрын
Did anyone notice she claimed to be a unicorn, but same all the same things other women say. men to to get out of their heads. As soon as she started to develop other women gave her info to make her fearful of men. She's running things but won't work while pregnant. He has to make enough to hold it down while she chooses not to work. But at no point have I heard her say anything about the man being her leader. Women today want everything they do to be negotiable. But what they will TAKE is never negotiable. And especially with Black women. Good luck to you. But, my zones and nephews won't be told that thus is a good idea.

Regarding her love question. Love is a feeling that changes. Women often fall out of relationships because their love for their current partner changes. Love cannot sustain a purpose driven relationship. Loving a partner for various traits or actions is quantifiable. Emotional love is irrational and dangerous especially if you are the provider.

she wants to have a "conversation" because she doesn't accept that the husband has to shut her outside job down once she's having his children. She must follow him where his work goes period. No discussion, no negotiation. What she's hinting at is the matrilocal matriarchy that BGS has talked about. Where the sistas don't want to go where a brotha is going because she wants to maintain control over the house, and city setting. Most of these conversations are made moot by simply surveying Black ppl UXR style and asking: what is your sex? what is ideal for us as a people; being matriarchal or patriarchal, matrilocal or patrilocal, matrilineal or patrilineal? Thats a 3squared possiblity of combinations and they aren't being put in those terms hence all the confusion amongst us. Diasporans are composed of varying tribes who have had most of but not all of those types of social structures. Then thats subsumed under white society which is a ppp combo.

@17:45 the statement of being a unicorn is very disingenuous. On a fundamental level we are more alike than different and the reality of being a unicorn is an outlier, you can’t base statements/arguments off fragmented data. Everybody is right in an outlier, and while she does state “dating”, how long are you going to be dating for? The notion of dating isn’t sustainable as Obi says, because at some point there should be enough credible data for you to decide dating has given me enough information to determine if this is going to conclude in the end result of what dating is for companionship whether that’s marriage and procreation. Animals don’t hunt for sport and most don’t have sex for pleasure but somehow because we are sentient creatures we can abuse sex and this is what happens when we lose reverence for purpose. Dating is the most destructive creation to the family unit, it removes the important of intentional interaction in lieu of pleasurable interaction.

Total nonsense, Happiness is not based on one thing or one variable, but many or multiples. Yes, being on your own, single maybe, works, workouts, hanging out might be enough to make or keep you happy. But, the same person adding family and kids to the equation , now you have more variables and things added that could be the new reason for your happiness or keeping you happy.
