Vanessa, I found some really quiet clippers made by Wahl, called "Pro Ultra Quiet", and they made a HUGE difference when trimming my cats. Since I have a serval (!!!), two Maine Coons, and a 22 lb Ragdoll, getting them all groomed without getting accidentally mauled is really important. (For those curious, that's 4 cats totalling 127 lbs.)

Purrogi. Oh my goodness. She is so cute, and what a name! Also, Vanessa, the 'whoop!' sound as you were feeling for matting was awesome. My poor old girl has a fair bit of matting on her tummy - I'm trying to get it slowly with scissors not to frighten her. She's a floofball too, though not a Persian. Unfortunately, I do not have a trimmer. "I hate shaving matted armpits." LOL - so would I. But I bet Miss Purrogi hated HAVING matted armpits, too. You're awesome.

I've had 2 medium haired tuxedo kitties. Both super fluffy with extremely plumey tails. The first one had a very soft tongue and got matted. The 2nd has a tongue like a metal file, I can't even stand him to give me a lick as it feels like he is stripping the skin off my body! He has had a total of 2 tiny matts in his entire life, and he is 16 and absolutely will not be brushed. It really seemed to make a huge difference in how hooked the tongues were, with the soft tongue being more ineffectual for grooming, and the extremely raspy tongue doing an extremely effective job. Had never really thought about cat tongues not being the same before that! Love your channel😻
