Looks pretty decent for a fake tbf... I would never buy one from ebay.. always buy my watches from actual jewelers/watch shops... but anybody with no knowledge and are buying a first gshock would definitely get scammed with a fake and they probably wouldn't even know it....

I've bought fake g-shocks before for as low as 4 USD. A fake anadigi frogman I bought in college which lasted only a year before the "stainless steel" corroded so bad it irritated my skin, the second fake g-shock I bought I forgot the model number but it lasted again a year, before it just stopped working; then an ex bought me a fake GA-350 but it only lasted less than a year; then I bought a fake GA-100, it lasted only months before the dials dislodged and it was completely useless. I still have the fake anadigi frogman but the rubber has long since expired and the parts that did not crumble is now all sticky(I kept it in a plastic case just for the memories of college). Buying fake g-shocks aren't worth it even if they're cheap upfront they become a waste when they ultimately just erode away, my GD-400 that I bought in 2015 is now 8 years old but it's just like brand new despite me heavily using it, taking it with me on hikes and work in construction.

Very Good - I bought a fake off Ebay. The strap posts were not threaded - just pushed in with some kind of adhesive keeping them there. Also, had a single 2025 battery instead of dual 395 batteries. Found this all out a year after I bought it and the battery died.

This is one of those fascinating videos... Thanks for uploading it..👍 It would have been nice to have a real compass in the room to compare with both watches for genuine accuracy. Imagine the effort required to create a copy of the fake tin can it comes in then add the effort to create such an accurate copy of the watch with all of the plastic mouldings and internal electro-mechanical parts and software. A huge effort indeed, so there must be a huge profit worth earning here. Just a pity that such brilliance couldn't be best directed at producing something to compete with Casio, rather than merely imitating it.

Heads up for all, if you are buying one from Japan, it will come without a warranty card. The manual book will be in all Japanese in a sleeve with the warranty for Japan only.

Just for those out there who dont have the real watch sitting next to them. What this watch is from is called "The grey market." Its when the manufacturer illegally makes product ether after their contract was canceled or through back door sales. The way to catch ALL grey market products is the pieces of the product that are patented in house by the company. In this case you can see that everything is a little too accurate, that means they had the original molds and schematics, but not the quality to manufacture. The smaller and easier to go cheap pieces are the dead give away... Paint, metal quality, buttons, screws, rubber, ext.

Based on the facts, the original wins. However, I can't help but feel that in many other ways...the fake actually wins. The attention to detail that the "bootleggers" put into creating a mimic model is honestly quite astonishing, but of course...fake is still fake. Overall, excellent comparison, especially for the general public who have no idea that these types of fraud are exteremely ninja-like.

You can compare second hand watch pointer - on fake when it moves you see that it jumps before it stops ( you can compare it on 5:43 ), on the original stops precisely.

I should have looked at the price at the fake GD-X6930E I should’ve ran when I saw the price and I would’ve never gotten a fake watch at the time it did have a plastic wrap on the glass and back case and the light was off and the timer was off and than I realized it was fake and I got fucked over on a counterfeit Gshock I’ll stick to the big box stores from now on I watch for the price as well if it’s below retail value I’ll run the other way

Im not really sure about the tag and the manual, coz I got my g shock straight from a casio showroom, the tag had the feature list and the bar code and the manual was same as what you showed in the fake one, but the rest was as same as what you showed in the real one
