Gulab Jamun Recipe with instant gulab jamun mix
Ingredients
250 grams Gits instant gulab jamun mix (u can use any other brand available )
Milk as required to knead the dough
600 grams sugar
4 to 5 cardomon pods
few strands of saffron
Method
In a vessel add 600 grams sugar and equal amount of water also add the saffron strands and cardomons
Keep mixing on high heat till sugar dissolves
Once mixture starts boiling switch the gas to low medium and boil for 3 to 4 minutes then remove from heat sugar syrup is ready
Add the Gits instant gulab jamun mix in a bowl add milk little by little and knead into a sticky dough
Grease palms with ghee scoop out small balls of dough knead them between palms and shape into small crack free balls
Fry these jamuns in medium hot oil over medium heat till golden brown from all the sides keep mixing with spoon gently so that they brown from all sides
Then remove and add these jamuns in hot sugar syrup mix gently with spoon cover for 30 minutes
Jamuns will be ready in 30 minutes they will be almost double in size serve warm or chilled
They taste best when at room temperature
Note : A sticky dough will result in spongy and crack free balls
Always add the jamuns in hot syrup if the syrup has become cold heat it make it hot again do not boil remove from heat and..then add the fried jamuns
Always try to use fresh packets of instant gulab jamun mix for great results
It remains fresh for 3 to 4 days outside then u can keep in fridge later
Do not reheat the jamuns once prepared again and again
