I've looked at dozens of reviews, and I really like the Falcon 20. It sounds great at volumes low enough for the neighbors and is loud enough for the gigs I play.

Something I think about a lot is that I like a lot of bottom end tonally so gravitate towards bigger amps and cabinets even though I predominantly play at home - even though power wise a small combo would suffice from a volume perspective - obviously the multi watt feature helps on the volume front!

As always, just choose the amp that works for you!

I am trying to come back to guitar. I've been away for a few years, meaning a bunch this has been very informative. Uh, I have a few fine guitars and I really need the proper amp. You have enlightened me, by the way, you really play well

Good job sorting out the basics. Kudos. Main thing is follow these tips then trust your ears in whatever venue you strive to succeed in.

Hi Dinesh, as I'm watching this video, my foot is resting on that JP 2C you sold me about 8 years back? Good to see you even if it is only in video.

Please consider a re-issue of the Mesa/Boogie Studio Preamp. A great Mesa/Boogie product from the past.

I have tube amps from 12 to 100w in at least 5 steps. How big you go has more to do with the room volume/background noise for me. If I needed 1000w I could use a pair of 3-500Z’s , but for work, it was a 1200w ss unit for the ship’s PA so we could sail when the Bogen failed the smoke test (e gen over voltage when the regulator died). Have fun

I took a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe Mod 3 Limited Edition and built a head amp cabinet and a speaker cabinet to work 2 - 12" JBL's 2130 and sub-bass, a 2-way JBL SF-20M, Sansui tweeters then ported. I did another speaker cabinet to use a Bugera T-50. The whole idea is a long story, but I'm curious if people do stuff like me and make their own electric guitars to record with?

I think the most important thing that you are missing in choosing amps is repair-ability/longevity. Owning an origin 20 combo for 6+ years has been a nightmare trip to the tech pretty consistently. It checks out every category stated for me its fing perfect it's just not built for longevity just a pretty design and beautiful sound so i will keep repairing this mofo till its burnt to a crisp

If Gibson builds a QuadRaxis, I’d consider it. Otherwise, I’m done with Gibson’s Less-a-Boogies. In the meantime, I’m struggling to get my Mark V properly serviced. Sigh.

I ran into a situation where my local authorized service center didn't have a working tech. So I emailed the Mesa factory in Petaluma, California. After some Q&A, they decided to have me ship them the amp head. My issue was strange noise that seemed to appear after about 30 or more minutes of operation. They worked on it for a month before finding the cause. So I would recommend that you try to get the factory to fix it directly. If you have already, hmmm. Have you tried a Fender Champion?

I own a Mesa Boogie Electra Dyne combo! What category would that amp be put in?

No, i gave up and bought a Roland JC-40 instead after blewing up 3 tube amps, and dropping another.

Why are there so little open back cabinets when the combo has an open back often the head plus matching cab is closed back?
@adiamondforever78903 ай бұрын
Tube amps needs lots of ventilation, cabinets it is sound porting. I have to keep the tube envelopes below ‘that’ temperature so they can live another day. ‘That’ temp is in the tube manual, and with CPU’s lower is better. Have fun

It will take time but modeling amps will take over. It is to a point that it isn’t worth the cost and weight. Buying a fender tonemaster showed me just how close the technology is. Why have twice the weight and the added price over a digital amp that is 95 percent there?
@giulioluzzardi76324 ай бұрын
Single channel, more reliable and easier to service. Channel switching amps usually need maintenance and care, that's all I know.
@billhayes70144 ай бұрын
Not sure why a dual channel would require more maintenance, the technology required for channel switching is pretty simple. I’ve serviced many amps and I have never seen any increase in maintenance or care required.

@@6120orange Wow :). Man it sounds also nice... I have seen on some videos, and looks cool. :) Sure Mesa Boogie is out of my reach, and I already have one small bedroom tube amp, but I like Mesa, and Gibson amps even though not suitable for Europeans, and expensive...
