Give Me An Answer with Stuart & Cliffe Knechtle

Күн бұрын

Cliffe Knechtle has a great conversation with college students at a campus in the southwest US.
The "Give Me An Answer" ministry began as an outgrowth of the dialogues Cliffe Knechtle has had with students on various university campuses throughout the United States. These universities include the University of Maine, Harvard, MIT, University of Florida, University of Texas, University of Wisconsin, University of Minnesota, University of California Los Angeles, University of California San Diego, Berkeley, Stanford, University of Hawaii and the University of Washington. Cliffe spoke on these campuses in front of the Student Union or Library at noon for five to ten minutes. At the close of his initial remarks, he'd open up the time for questions and answers, which usually turned into a two to four hour dialogue with students. His crowd size ranged from 25 - 500 students at a time, and between classes, new students would join the discussion. This is an extremely effective way to reach a large number of university students with the Gospel of Christ.

If I lie to the police I'll get a ticket if I lie to a judge I'll go to jail if I lie to God I'm going to hell. I could listen to him all day. I swear the more I listen to him, the more I can notice when satan is trying to persuade me to sin. It’s a battle, and when I pray, I feel more at ease in my mind, confessing and asking for his help. It’s a lot easier to say no to things when you realize what it really is and whats it worth, which it’s all worldly pleasures, not eternal. Since we are just a speck of sand and since life is actually really short, I’d much rather go a lifetime on earth dealing with all of this evil, and live everlasting In peace. The hope of living a good life and having a relationship with god for infinite time is what keeps me going everyday. I struggle with gods grace of everlasting life as long as we believe in him and give yourself to him. Yet we still go to the judgment seat.

I like it when Cliff calls these students out when they are trying to avoid the question or when they aren't being truthful. We all know that kicking someone in the face is objectively wrong. If you were about to be murdered you wouldn't say "In my opinion you trying to kill me is wrong, but morality is all subjective."

I thought the young man was correct, the reason we know it's wrong to kick someone in the face has more to do with us as a species than it has to do with some objective moral value that's been directly handed down by God. We are taught right and wrong by our parents as soon as we are able to walk and talk.

Burning7One Hi, Burning7One, no I think you misunderstand me, you are quite correct, people don't stop in the middle of an attack, and think 'will this benefit our species'. I'm saying that we know it's wrong from being raised to know right from wrong when we're small children, it's a learned thing from our parents which by the time the child is going to school, they will be equipped to interact socially with other children. No child that I'm aware of will be raised to think kicking someone in the face is acceptable behavior, any good parent will chastise bad behavior and also explain to the child *why* it is wrong. It's not something that is learned overnight, it takes years of good parenting skills.. how many times in a child's life will they hear the word "No"!!?

"you wouldn't say: In my opinion you trying to kill me is wrong, but morality is all subjective." indeed not all subjective.. but in a fundamental way, why not? isn't it possible to think it is subjective, and act on your subjective view? aren't christians f.e. freely accepting jesus's teaching? isn't that a subjective root behind the actions you would take?

"I would tell you not to kick her, because I don't want everyone else to think it's okay to kick each other". I don't think that is intellectually honest at all. When you watch someone hurt another person, you can't for a second have me believe your initial response is "Oh, I don't want society to think that is okay". You're initial response is empathy for that girl, possible anger at the man, and a sense of duty to protect her and stop HIM (not society) from doing that again. A child is able to recognize that hurting someone or something is wrong, without even the slightest intellectual understanding of a "society" and "common good". These are instinctual duties... not some philosophical inner dialog about the effects this particular act has on society. A bee pollinates because of it's instinctual duty. Not because it has some complex inner philosophical discussion with itself that pollinating is ultimately good, and bees banded together and have debate and discussion on why this ought to be. They just do this because it is Gods will. It is the divinely encoded purpose within them.

Cliffe makes the point that if he were to kick a girl in the face, the kid knows it's instinctively wrong ( objectively wrong), but the kid is right to say he knows it's wrong based on his upbringing and he can give a whole list of valid reasons why it would be wrong for Cliffe to kick a girl in the face.

Natural process as cause for universe beginning doesn’t stand the infinity implications. In short - it has an infity to play itself out so the caused universe is already in infinite past. That’s why it’s reasonable to infer personal decision of something existing outside of space and time as universe cause.

Just to let you know my good friend. Great video's you have. Thank you. God bless you. There is some points I need to tell you. The Sabbath Day of God is Saturday and not Sunday. It starts from Friday evening it ends at Saturday evening. The emperor of Constantine and the Roman Church Pope change the Sabbath Day from Saturday to Sunday. We have been worshiping the wrong day. There is a video of Cardinal Gibbons telling us the truth about the true Sabbath day. The catholic church have been committing idolatry. They made both Idols of statues of Jesus and Mary. Tgey are breaking God's 1st and 2nd commandments. Also they Claming to call priests Father not to mention that the pope claims to be called Holy Father which is blasphemy against God. In the Bible The Book of Matthew said not to call anyone Father for we have 1 Father and HE is in Heaven. The Eucharist bread that the Catholic Church uses is false. That little round discs that they use is a cake wafer . Jesus said to take the bread and to break it. Now for the wine the word wine in Greek is called grape juice. The wine that the Catholic church is using both the blood or / alcohol wine. Jesus never gave anyone alcohol for it is forbidden to drink alcohol. Another point to make the Pope is changing both times and laws. You can see that the pope has removed parts of the 10 commandments. They removed the 2nd commandments and changed the 4th commandments. Then the 9th and 10th commandmets they chaned it to something else. People need to be aware of the true 10 commandments. Soon in the Future the Pope will enforce Sunday law. This is when the mark of the beast will take place. Those who worship God's true Sabbath Day Saturday and obeys the 10 commandments will recive the Seal of God on their head. Those who dont follow the commandments and worships Sunday will recive the mark of the beast on their right hand or their forhead. We are now living at the end times right now. Also the catholic church thinks there is a purgatory. But that is also false. They also think that there is going to be a secret Rapture. That is also false. We everyone is going through the trials and tribulation. And anyone who endures Until the End will be saved. And if anyone calls in the name of the Lord shall be saved. Also the rosary beads is also false because it has 32 Hail Mary's and 6 our fathers. That goes to show you that they worship more to Mary than to God. Also Just to let you know in the Catholic Church they created a Mary prayer because they turn more on to Mary than to God. The Catholic Church concocted a Mary prayer. The Mary prayer is never mentioned in the bible. But the Catholic Church depicted parts of the Bible to make a Hail Mary prayer. There is only one prayer and that prayer is Our Father prayer and that is in the Book of Matthew. Our Father prayer is the only prayer that we should be using not Mary. If this is helpful please let me know. Like what God said. You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free forever free Amen. God bless you my friend. Keep up the good work. High five ✋

No of course not, but why ? for according to your reasoning those societies that do not adhere to YOUR GODS moral dictates ( the atheistic, secular ect ) should be examples of depravity and lawlessness, yet this is plainly NOT the case and It would be a demonstration of hubris to assert otherwise. Not just that do you know that there have been many studies to assess the religiosity of societies in comparison with their number of murders, rapes, abortions, drug use, single parents, even wealth and health America dispite being one of the most christian countries in the world has the HIGHEST prison population rate per capita anywhere in the world 🤔🤔🤔 it also has amongst the worst results in many of the above categories. Yet those we regard as the most atheistic secular ( the Scandinavian, sweden ect) score much much better and are amongst the best in those same categories. The guy that said why is the creator of the universe called God is a bit confused there. Why? Because he acknowledged that there is a cause, but he simply doesn't want to call the cause God. However the name God is what we call what ever it is he's referring to has something he said we don't just know, that created the universe. So he's either going to have to coin out a name for his cause, or accept God as what he/they don't know. 😕

Jesus took all judgement, for mankind's fall, upon Himself so we can walk freely in His divine nature again. Yay! What lots of people (even pastors) don't (yet) understand. For the fall of man a perfect atoning sacrifice had to be made.... that is what God did in Christ. He paid the debt for the fall of man for us to be indwelled by His Spirit again and finally receive the divine life of the ages back, the first Adam let got of in the fall of man. That is what you see happening in Christ's first disciples. They too healed all. And yes.... that is still avaible today. The holy blood is in place, the Holy Spirit is here to give us understanding and transform us back to origin. Not to be debated about, but to be embraced and be-come. So: The Kingdom of God already came. Through Christ, in Spiritform, in those that understand. Hence the divine healing miracles we experience. God manifested in Christ to give us back the divine life mankind lost in the fall of Adam. Christ, the exact image of the invisible God. The image we were created after in Gen 1. The image we lost in the fall of man. The image that can be freely restored by Christ's blood and Holy Spirit working IN us. What a plan. What a solution. What a love. What a God. Jesus is amazing. It is the ultimate conclusion of the word and plan of God. God came full circle. He Himself stooped down from glory to restore us back to original created value: Christlikeness. Walking in divine healing power and unselfish love. Jesus, born of the Spirit of God, filled with the spirit of God. The "Son" of God, the incarnated word, God in the flesh. For three years He healed all, raised the dead, casted out demons, controlled nature, spoke pure divine truth. He said: "Follow Me. If you see Me, you see the Father. The Father and I are one. The glory I have IN My Father, I give to you. It pleases the Father to give you His Kingdom/Holy Spirit/divine nature. I will send Holy Spirit, the same as Me, He will be IN you, guide you into truth and give you explosive power. The same miracles i do, you will do too, because you will understand that the Father is IN Me and I am IN you. Freely I give you My Kingdom/Holy Spirit/divine nature, heal the sick, raise the dead, cast out demons, freely I give, freely share" Etc, etc, etc. I have experienced thousands of beautifull healing miracles through the power of Holy Spirit IN me already. Broken bones, cancers, covid, all kinds of infirmities healed in seconds. Demons manifesting and casted out by a simple "get out, in Jesus name". Jesus. De name above all names. In Him all power and wisdom is sourced and.... He calls us one with Him. God in man and man in God again. C'mon Jesus!! So.... again: God stooped down IN Christ to restore us back to Gen 1:27 were He said: "Let us make man according to our image and likeness and let them have authority.....": walk as Christ. Christ, the exact image of the invisible God. The image we were created after and being restored to by His atoning blood for the fall of man and indwelling Holy Spirit. You are free to receive this original divine life of the ages by Holy Spirit of Christ/God. Ask Him to guide you into truth. Read the Gospel of John and fall in love with your creator. You are not made for the fall of man and its effects, but for the image/glory of God and to walk like Christ. Holy Spirit is the guide and transforming power that will get you there. Amazing grace. A big leap in faith can be made when we start realizing we are already IN Christ, IN the last Adam. Free from the fall! Loved! Growing into awareness of our new (yet old) godly identity. Changing by Holy Spirit. The most fullfilled life ever. Paul healed all on Malta. He understood and wrote: "As in the first Adam ALL died (lost the divine nature), so also ALL were made alive IN Christ to walk in Zoë (= divine life) again". "IN Christ (the last Adam) we are co-cruisified (dead to the fall and its effects), co-raised (justified/made righteousness, holy, blameless, above reproach), co-seated (one with Him)" "The fullness of deity dwells in Christ and YOU HAVE BEEN MADE COMPLETE IN HIM, who is the head of every principality and power". So.... thank you Jesus! Thank you for redeeming me from the fall of man. Thank you for your Holy Spirit that makes this new (yet old) divine life come alive in me. You are amazing! In the shadow of Peter the sick healed... He understood too and wrote: "By Gods power (Holy Spirit) and knowing Christ, we have become partakers of the divine nature and have escaped the fall of man". The divine life of the ages has been returned to us by Jesus once and for all perfect atoning sacrifice for the debt of the fall of man and His indwelling Holy Spirit in us. Jesus/God is amazing!!! Ask Him to give you revelation and change you to the way it was before the fall of man: Christlikeness. He will do so. For it is written: "the Spirit brings forth after His own kind". "I have come to give you Zoë (divine life) in abundance...."

And then realize that the probability of God existing is greater than that of there not being one. It’s amazing. It’s amazing the dichotomy. The Smarter a person is and the more research they do the more they Believe And on the contrary the less smart a person is and the less research they do the more they believe. Generally speaking.

If you took the American flag and cut it up into 1000 pieces then went 100 feet into the air into a helicopter and dropped it how many times would you need to do this until the flag came together as a whole on the ground? According to science you just need more time like millions or billions of years, so you go higher and give the pieces more time to form back into the original flag, it will actually be less likely.

They don't want their deeds Reproved. Many people have dead works. In chapter 4, Jesus used a women of samaria to plant seeds, he met her at Jacob's well. She was pliable clay, some people aren't pliable clay. On judgement day people will be judged by their works, the spirituality dead. What excuses will they offer Jesus.

7:09 "Given that God imply design, and we see design, how do you know that that design did not come about throught natural processes" Cliffe missed the point of telling the kid that natural causes do shape creatures. We have Great Danes and chiwawas dogs, the dna for the k9 type is designed, but natural effects (natural selection) selected for an optimized layout/choices of the dna. So both natural processes and intelligent design effects creatures/things. E.g., a stone cutter will cut rock to make some steps, and the rain will smooth the edges with erosion. I dont think Cliffe actually made the point of "Should Not", That is: all party members in the "kicking scene" could share a cultural value of not kicking the woman, making them all have the same subjective morel value.
@MrObble
@MrObble 3 жыл бұрын
@@gustavmahler1466 That depends on your definition of "evolve", Do you mean a limited change to fit the environment, then yes. If you mean gaining new information like wings on a pigs back then No. Natural Selection picks out the variation that is already in the population it never creates new information. Mutations are a natural way to change a creature but mutations never add new information, the best they can do is to alter preexisting information like how some bacteria can eat Nylon. Most of the time mutations slowly rust from the information of the population i.e. devolving.

@MrObble
@MrObble 3 жыл бұрын
@@SolidPain6624 That depends on which God you are referring to. If it's the God of the Bible, then you are not believing what the bible and Jesus himself said. The date of Adam & Eve happened 3996bc to 4004bc if you count the years in the bible. Jesus's own genealogy shows the ancestry to A&E. Jesus himself said "“But at the beginning of creation God ‘made them male and female", Mark 10:6 If the great theory of evolution (billions of years) is true, then Adam & Eve would be at the end of creation. Making Jesus a liar and faith therein dead. Also the reason Jesus came to earth was to die on a cross to pay for your sins. "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." and "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.", if the earth was 4.45 billion years old then death was part of the natural order, and Jesus's death was meaningless. Also, that would make God which said in Genesis when he created the Earth "he saw it was very good" in a much different light. The belief in the great theory of evolution goes against Christianity and undermines it to the core by making God be a liar, his son's death meaningless, and our faith in vain. Those are the logical conclusions when you insert a religious belief into Christianity which is the opposite of Christianity. If you reject Genesis as the foundation (which was recorded history) then the rest of the bible has no foundation and collapses. Christianity requires real history, as it's based on events that have happen. If you dont believe the God of the bible, then you can make up any history and beliefs you want. Cheers

Sometimes Americans have this attitude of thinking they are more righteous then God, how do you question if it's a right thing to do for God to destroy the wicked with the floods??? But I think I know where this stinking attitude come from, it comes from this idea that says you must question everything, but the problem is they are going too far with it in such a way that instead of it helping them understand God it ends up driving them further and further away from Him.... This way of thinking is so dangerous because they end up questioning the very existence of God, questioning is good if you wanna learn and have knowledge about God, but I see a crisis in America, most people there have found a quick way to fame and being rich by challenging God's existence and acting as if they are a judge over the Almighty .... And I've noticed that in this stinking way of thinking even the christians don't rebuke this attitude but they condone it, they even compliment those who ask such foolish questions and say it's a good question.....the christians are as bad as the unbelievers because they also feed off of this attitude.... Sometimes giving an answer to a foolish arrogant question doesn't help a person draw near God

Actually it doesn't make any sense. First, I think it's dumb to have a "the greater the authority, the greater the consequence mentality'. We're all people, you should get the same punishment. Second, to state that God is just and loving is a bit hard to comprehend when you live on this earth for any amount of time. What is really not just is the concept of hell. You're comparing the consequences of hell with the consequences of jail. Then you compare slaughtering people with Johnny hitting someone in the face. Johnny may go to jail from his actions but it's not going to be death and according to you, not everyone who goes to hell commits murder. But regardless, love and just is a hard concept to wrap your head around when love and just sends you to an apparent place of eternal torture. If justice wanted to be done, then if you didn't earn heaven, you don't get heaven. You just get nothing. For example, lots of college FB players vie for the Heismann trophy, only one person wins it. The rest just get nothing. Why wouldn't God just allow someone to die, if they didn't earn the right to heaven and they are simply gone? There's nothing after this life.

Comparing man’s judgement certainly can’t be how a “God” judges. If you’re making a comparison between man and God then you’re making equal comparisons of mankind. Is your God not better, more ethical, omnipresent and omnipotent? Your comparative narrative is intellectually unsound and unreasonable.

"GOOD" and "EVIL" are words used to describe movement or points on a reference standard or scale conceptualised by man that is based upon our shared values like human wellbeing, empathy and equality. Whilst "God" is also a man made concept, the percieved whims of this "God" do not reflect these shared values and thus are irrelevant in any discussion of morality.
