Program 0221 ...........................Pantheism - Paul speaks to local churches - Design and Creation - The existence of God - Evidence - Abortion - ........................................
The "Give Me An Answer" ministry began as an outgrowth of the dialogues Cliffe Knechtle has had with students on various university campuses throughout the United States. These universities include the University of Maine, Harvard, MIT, University of Florida, University of Texas, University of Wisconsin, University of Minnesota, University of California Los Angeles, University of California San Diego, Berkeley, Stanford, University of Hawaii and the University of Washington. Cliffe spoke on these campuses in front of the Student Union or Library at noon for five to ten minutes. At the close of his initial remarks, he'd open up the time for questions and answers, which usually turned into a two to four hour dialogue with students. His crowd size ranged from 25 - 500 students at a time, and between classes, new students would join the discussion. This is an extremely effective way to reach a large number of university students with the Gospel of Christ.

absolutely zanni, it's good that they are having a rational discussion on a serious subject, I tend to side with the students on this matter. I've never heard atheists going around saying that "life came from non life", as an atheist it's something which science hasn't yet figured out, but we're constantly being told thats what we believe. No it isn't. We don't know how life originated.

@@leonstoltz6088 This is an interesting subject Leon. I can say this. I didn’t really realise or appreciate the faith I had until challenged by atheists to produce evidence for God’s existence. I think initially I thought I believed in God primarily because of creation. However I am now inclined to believe that my belief in God is mainly because of faith, although God’s creation around about me is either equally important or it at least comes a close second. And I think this is hard for an atheist to understand, because this faith which is a gift from God, given to those whom God knows will follow Him, is such that it’s all persuasive in persuading us of God’s existence. Therefore whilst some might call my faith blind faith, to me it isn’t like that at all. It’s an incredible knowing that’s beyond comprehension.

The first kid is completely right in his reading of Paul's words to Timothy on the functions of men and women in the church. Clearly, Paul applies the words that women should not teach with authority over men to all churches and all Christians. Furthermore, as the kid stated in the video, his reasoning is Adam and Eve and their story. This is a universal reason. Paul didn't mention anything about Ephesus and their pagan gods, so we must not make that assumption. The right answer to his question should be, yes, men and women have different functions in different settings. But they are on the same value. A proof of this is that the Son and the Father in the Trinity have different functions and the Father is said to be functionally "above" the Son, yet they are exactly of the same value and nature, to say otherwise would be Heresy. To answer Mr. Cliffe's counter argument about Priscilla teaching Apollos. Any teaching done by Priscilla to another man was not done with authority. She was not preaching as an apostle or pastor or from a pastor's pulpit. There is nothing wrong with women teaching men. It is wrong when it is done with spiritual authority.

And he is not a affected by them so you can not prove him with the rules of reality. it is like jesus said don't test the LORD thy God his ways are above your ways. so obviously you can not even observe him to test him and you don't have the means to test him you don't have the understanding to do it. When you follow God's ways you will understand how to test him. For instance use scripture to see if God spoke everything in the existence. If everything is vibration and frequency then this is a clear sign . And creation declares God. And science says God is not real but they don't know were we come from. So the burden of proof is on science untill someone can demonstrate a full working model a grand unified theory of everything. God is on the throne

The opening clip tells me everything I need to know about this debate, you cant relate an organic process to inorganic things because a mouse trap doesn’t have sex or reproduce, but if you want a better analogy that actually makes sense. Companies have never released half a mouse trap to the public. They have always been fully functional mouse trap whether they be primitive like snapping mouse trap. Over time as these companies began to expand they have made better trap to outsmart mice without any of the models being incomplete. That is how evolution works, there is never a time where you have half an eye or incomplete eye. But there are obvious steps where you can tell that it may not be the eye we have today but something as simple as photo sensitive cells reacting to light.

Thats shows you just how little the western church actually knows about the bible, and they are also trying to make the bible seem less offensive, because in reality the western church wants people to like them in an effort to get people to come to christ but they are leading people to a different christ. And these are just some of the western churches not all. 4:27 "women have less value than men" NOOOOOOOOO, they have different roles than men, men and women are equal in dignity, value and all that, but they have different roles in how they are to function in society, THAT IS WHAT THE BIBLE TEACHES my friend not that they are less in anyway

If you're going to take on the task of debating a person who can pick verses anywhere from out of the Bible, who also has what seems to be education in theology, philosophy, science, and much more. I am glad to see these young adults show interest in Christianity to stick around, and ask questions. The more you learn, about all those educational programs I mentioned above the more you learn to be open minded. Maybe some will look further into it, and come to the Lord, and make a committed relationship to Him. If not it's your decision to find out if you were right, or wrong.

I'm guessing that most of those students, like most kids, were raised to believe in Christianity, but those beliefs are challenged when you attend universities and find more coherent answers to what the Bible taught, I may be totally wrong, but it's my guess those students aren't convinced by Cliffe's answers. How does the Lord make himself known to you?, Are you not in the same situation as a believer in any other religion?, eg: taking it on faith, and buying into the story. If the Bible were true, shouldn't the evidence be overwhelming and beyond question? .. maybe it is in your mind, but obviously none of those students are convinced by it.

@givemeananswer, the fact that Mount Rushmore was carved out of a mountain, by a team of more than 400 miners, doesn’t prove anything about Intelligent Design. Intelligent Design is a good theory. It would explain many things. But it also proves that the Designer is not intelligent at all. There are many things I would change about reality, which would change the world for the better. This “Designer” made more mistakes than miracles. Evolution or Natural Selection doesn’t guarantee ‘perfection’ or ‘paradise’. It promises the most necessary opportunities for only the moment.

This might come as a bit of a shock to some of my fellow agnostic atheists here when I say this, and even some Christians here might be shocked to read an atheist saying this too but Evolution is irrelevant to whether or not there is a God or whether or not we can trust the Bible as a divine book. If evolution were shown to be flawed tomorrow, that STILL wouldn't tell me whether or not there is a God or whether or not I can trust the Bible and even those are also two SEPARATE things in and of themselves. This is where so many get confused, I can understand how it happens, I've done this too but it's a big mistake, they think that by kicking holes in one thing, they have proven the other or by demonstrating one thing, they have demonstrated the other, it doesn't work like that, each thing needs to be judged SEPARATELY and on its own merits. If a cook and a butler both get accused of murder and after some investigation, the butler is ruled out, does that mean the cook must have been the murderer? No, not necessarily, they still have to prove that the cook was the murderer despite now ruling out the butler, maybe they might BOTH end up being ruled out of the investigation. Can you see what I'm saying here? We need to judge each thing independently and not jump to any conclusions based on what the other thing might be. When it comes to this discussion, there are THREE questions that need to be addressed.....ONE AT A TIME. Firstly, do we have sufficient justification to believe that there is some higher, supreme being that we could designate 'God' who brought everything else into existence?? if the answer to that is 'yes', then the next question to ask should be, what kind of being is this, for example, is this being the SAME being/God that the Bible tells us about?? Now, if the answer to that is 'yes it's the God mentioned in the Bible', then the final question to ask is, can we trust that EVERYTHING we read in the Bible is from this God being? Now, if I could be convinced that the answer to all three of those questions is a resounding 'YES', including the last one, then I would be a Christian right now but as I say, each thing has to be judged independently, just convincing me that there must be some higher intelligent mind/being that kick-started the universe as we know it, is all very well but it doesn't give me any reason to be sure that the Bible is this beings message and just showing that SOME things in the Bible are right doesn't mean it must be ALL right, for all I know, God might have inspired some of it and men may have added loads of other things that were not from this God and many could be falsely believing it is from God, can you see what I'm saying? This is where people need to be careful, we could be persuaded into all kinds of things if we put too much 'make or break' focus on ONE element. There are many different things on the table here, we need to look at it all. As someone who is searching for answers I am leaving no stone unturned, I'm not afraid to say 'evolution could be flawed', I don't think it is but I have no qualms about saying it's possible it might be flawed because I'm not basing my world view on evolution or any one thing, I'm looking at EVERYTHING and assessing each thing on its own merits.

Excellent points John. Clearly mankind throughout their long history have looked for answers as to why we are here and whats the meaning of life etc etc ... in the past we've assumed that there is a higher being in charge of us, looking down from the heavens, and that being came in hundreds of different forms in the guise of Gods. I think you and I consider ourselves quite lucky that we live in a time on this planet where we have good answers to many of the things that past generations have attributed to Gods, and that these answers don't require a God, in that, they have natural explanations which science has discovered. Had you and I lived in, lets say the 10th century here in England, we would almost certainly believe in some form of Biblical God, and that would be the case for hundreds of years. I did ask the question in a previous video why it would be that Christianity clearly appears to be on the decline in virtually all major western democratic countries? .. I've yet to hear of any answer to that question. From the atheist perspective, it seems clear to me that we have much better answers to how and why things are the way they are, and that no God is required. The more we learn about the planet and the cosmos, the less the Christian God ( or any other man made God) comes into the picture. As you've always stated John... it's the hiddenness of God that goes against a belief in him for most non believers. Nothing is stopping him from making his presence known to us. God, if he existed, would know *exactly* what it would take for me to believe in him. I think Cliffe actually says in this video .."seek, and you *will* find him" ... that doesn't appear to be the case.

The OP is correct. There is nothing about evolution that precludes or disproves the existence of God. It's a fact regardless of whether God exists or not. It isn't a choice between evolution or God. Most people who believe in God and who accept evolution tend to mix a little of both.

Humans intermarry and combine. Humans learn and think. But they are hopefully wiser and hybrids of their combined genetic code. That is not evolution but combinations of what they are. They have not changed what kind of organism they are. We are all of one blood. Acts 17:26 On the existence of God, the Transfiguration in the presence of the apostles who gave testimony and it was written. The conscience. A healthy mind has a conscience in a healthy person. If you do something, noone saw you, you are going to think about It after the fact, it bothers you or it's ok. If it bothers you and you can think you should correct it or change it, we call that a conscience. Godly men have a conscience and they consider consequences. They also consider what the future's like for their action. Even if they can't expect consequences that will affect them. Why does it occur? Moral absolutes that come from a higher intelligence and the way things are in creation by that intelligent design. God said he put enmity between the serpent and the seed of the woman. That affects all her children As God had made that change in man.

Oh dear. Two things you need to know. A scientific theory is not the same as a theory in the colloquial sense of the word. What you might call a theory in everyday language is closer to a hypothesis in scientific terms. A hypothesis is an educated guess, one that can be tested. A scientific theory is when that hypothesis has been demonstrated to be factual. The subject matter of a scientific theory is fact, the scientific theory explains why. For example: Oxygen is a fact. Oxygen Theory explains why. Secondly, no one in the entire scientific community is claiming that the universe came from absolute nothingness. It's a misunderstanding of terms. What we tend to think of when we say "nothing" is the same as a philosophical nothing, which is the same as what physicists refer to as absolute nothing IE a complete lack of any space, energy, matter, particles and light. The Big Bang Theory doesn't actually say anything about something coming from nothing. The energy was already there. Energy is not nothing. Atheism is the rejection of God claims.

@@InvestigadorTJ _Nearly all atheism is the consequence of the lack of any logical evidence of gods._ So there's no "faith" involved at all. * Some people claim "god exists". * When asked to prove that they know this by presenting logical evidence proving a god exists, they can't. * If they present any arguments at all, those arguments rely on logical errors, and when these errors are explained to them they ignore the errors. * Often they don't present arguments and try to derail the conversation -- like by being confused about the meaning of atheist ("disbelief or lack of belief in the existence of God or gods.") and dragging conversation down to an argument over terms instead of discussing the heart of the matter. Until theists stop acting this way -- _until we have logical evidence of a god existing_ -- non-belief will continue to be the rational position. If you care about whether your beliefs are truth, and you can't present logical evidence, you should abandon belief.

@@rdkayyvalorant Humanity has come pretty damn close multiple times, disease outbreaks, famines, climate change and now with the added bonus of nuclear warheads. Shame God never explicitly mentioned those. Don’t forget all the animals that have gone extinct in recent and ancient history.

@@rdkayyvalorant We have came close many times hell during the Cold War we almost destroyed ourselves by simply manipulating atoms. Don’t forget the various outbreaks throughout history, and the animals that have not survived overhunting, habitat destruction, and climate change. God or not every living thing is in a constant war against the elements and anti evolutionary creationists are gambling with humanity’s survival if they don’t realize this.

@@lorddevilfish5868 Is there something wrong with being anti-evolutionary? I personally think evolution is impossible based on how complex one single cell is, and how there are so many gaps in the theory, we went from single cellular to multi-cellular somehow then to animals, which are 100x more complicated, my question is: do you believe life can come from non life and something can come from nothing?
