Give Me An Answer with Stuart & Cliffe Knechtle

Күн бұрын

Program 2522 ................... - Agnosticism - Human Value - .................................................................
Recorded at Texas - September 2021.
The "Give Me An Answer" ministry began as an outgrowth of the dialogues Cliffe Knechtle has had with students on various university campuses throughout the United States. These universities include the University of Maine, Harvard, MIT, University of Florida, University of Texas, University of Wisconsin, University of Minnesota, University of California Los Angeles, University of California San Diego, Berkeley, Stanford, University of Hawaii and the University of Washington. Cliffe spoke on these campuses in front of the Student Union or Library at noon for five to ten minutes. At the close of his initial remarks, he'd open up the time for questions and answers, which usually turned into a two to four hour dialogue with students. His crowd size ranged from 25 - 500 students at a time, and between classes, new students would join the discussion. This is an extremely effective way to reach a large number of university students with the Gospel of Christ.

@@jasonnoble7302 You are misquoting. Your quote should say "Imagine looking at your child in the eyes and saying that without the desires of a God, you have no objective purpose to do anything". Without a God, every human being can subjectively create their own purpose, which Cliffe has said many times. No theist should ever argue that an atheist has no purpose. What they do say, is that anyone who believes there is no god, can not justify an objective purpose and can only cling to subjective purposes. However, with a God, human beings are created with an objective purpose because that comes from the creator.

@@jasonnoble7302 it has nothing to do with what cliffe believes.. it’s about whether God is real which is easily provable. Then we get to a Christian God because of the works of Jesus Christ. There’s more evidence for Jesus than your favorite historical person. With those facts we have to understand God who is the creator of the universe gives us life with value. Then gave us instructions on how to live a purposeful life where humans can thrive even through all the suffering. There’s been a lot of suffering in the past.. and we can agree there still is but compared to our ancestors we have it good thanks to God. With all the wealth in the world and food produced we can all live comfortable.. but the reality is that man is corrupt and that’s the issue, not God. God bless brother. Thanks to God for having Christian Apologists like Cliffe and Stuart and others like them for uploading these videos. Brother's Cliffe and Stuart always do good work in their efforts in the furtherance of The Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ you're reaching thousands to millions of people who are seeking after The Truth of God's Existence, Word and Character in our reality 🙏❤️👊. This has nothing and everything to do with the video but please listen if you want to otherwise leave it alone and ignore it. Hello my name is Justin and I'm a fellow Christian and Apologist but I'm also a college student. I'm not a closed minded Theist as I have nothing against Atheists or unbelievers as I speak to them often to understand their reasons for unbelief but we as Christians are convinced of God's Existence due to many real factors). I'm not trying to convert anyone or convince anyone to become Christians as that's The Holy Spirit's job to help people believe but only explain why I believe in Jesus Christ. There's actually evidence of God's Existence in Christianity. First of all there's proof that Jesus of Nazareth existed in history since the writings of Tacitus, Josephus Flavius, Pliny the younger and other historical documents prove that He was living two thousand years ago that even scholars both religious and Atheists agree with historically speaking but not that He's The Divine Son of God because obviously they don't. I'm going to give you historical and archeological evidence for God's Existence as The Scriptures have prophecies that predate the events recorded in them by several millennia including Matthew, Hosea and Zechariah which prophesy accurately of the people of Israel becoming a nation again after over 1900 years of being scattered around the nations since the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem in 70 A.D. spoken of by Christ in Matthew 23:29-24:3 and returning to their homeland after The Holocaust with Jerusalem as their capital in 1948 exactly as Jesus The Christ said. The prophets including Daniel spoke of the time where several world empires would arise and fall including the Babylonian kingdom, Medes and Persians, Roman Empire, and Saladin and the Muslims which went in consecutive order for the past few millennia. The people of Israel becoming a nation after The Holocaust in 1948 (ironically the melting point of gold as God compares Israel to gold that's tested in fire in Zechariah 13:8 and Jeremiah 16:15) exactly how Jesus The Christ said would happen since God us everything to come in The Scriptures and not just because people were working towards as Atheists claim which are impossible for any regular man to predict. Just before anyone says Christianity is a white man's religion made to oppress blacks during slavery you obviously aren't aware that the first Christians were Jews in The Middle East and that Christianity just like any religion can be used by evil and corrupt people to oppress others but you forget that the first Abolitionists/Civil Rights activists were Christians who sought to abolish slavery, racism, segregation, injustice and prejudice throughout American history. Jesus The Christ loves you enough not to give you what we all deserve which is God's Wrath by His Own Blood. Charles Darwin didn't originally come up with The Theory of Evolution over 200 years ago as it is mentioned in the writings of Ancient Greeks who believed in Demons that gave knowledge to philosophers. Evolution makes no sense when nothing has evolved after thousands of years of human history and supposedly the first creature came from primordial sludge several millions of years ago funny how they won't believe that God an Eternal Almighty Spirit Being created us from the Earth) which came from a supermassive expansion of matter at high temperature that inexplicably created everything in the known universe that supposedly came from nothing billions of years ago. How did the organs evolve before there were bones, skin, substance and how did any creatures see before eyes evolved? I've studied evolution and abiogenesis in the past and read Darwin's " Origin of The Species" I've studied evolution and abiogenesis in the past and read Darwin's " Origin of The Species" and I'm not convinced of macro Evolution of but I am convinced of speciation and adaptation which is micro Evolution because there's no evidence of macro Evolution nor clear observable examples of it where living creatures evolve into other kinds of species plus the fact that fossils don't show evidence of evolution and genetic entropy rules out evolution. The question begs how did two genders evolve from a common ancestor with a perfectly hospitable and sustainable environment with breathable oxygen and resources to survive on inexplicably? Atheists have the burden of proof to explain how everything came to be and why our existence is possible without the Existence of God from an godless perspective just as Christians have to provide evidence of God's Existence and the validity of His Word. Evolution requires life to already exist in order to take any effect in living organisms so it doesn't account for the existence of Life and reality. Also evolution is impossible because it goes against The Law of entropy and the second Law of thermodynamics because evolution makes things better whereas nothing continues to get better but decays and turns to absolute destruction in the end. Mark Ridley an Evolutionist said "No evolutionist whether gradualist or punctuationist uses the fossil record as evidence in favor of The Theory of Darwinian Evolution as opposed to special Creation". God's Existence is made perfectly known and observable in the universe as demonstrated in His Handiwork in the intelligently designed manner that Creation was made, human consciences and consciousness historical and archaeological evidence of God's Word being valid history, fulfillment of Bible Prophecies God in His Holiness and Righteousness could give us what we deserve in Hell for our since but He's merciful to give us free will to choose to accept or reject His gift of salvation by grace through faith in His Son Jesus. I don't mean this is any condescending manner but if you'd like to discuss The Scriptures with me or have me listen to your view on anything my instagram account is Savage Christian Kombatant.

Bless the preacher. Bless the message. Good question. You see we're not the only humans that ever lived because there's been centuries before us. And people aren't stupid a true creator and God wrote on our hearts the truth but we humans suppress it without even knowing it. If you read the Bible there are things written in it that are scientifically incredible even before science these things out. The reason you're able to learn is because God gave you a brain. But you've never seen your brain but you know you have one. A true God exists and he gave us his only begotten son. Do you know him and are you aware of what is written in the Bible. You have a spirit and that's why you are alive in a human body. Wake up and smell the roses. So many people are in darkness. Without God, Good does not exist. In this world we know all things have an opposite. The opposite of good is evil. I'm not a scholar but God uses good and evil things to mature a person so ALL things are used by God. The issue is still the same. Sin. Does that mean there is no "freewill" in heaven ??? If there is "freewill in heaven then it is possible to have both freewill and NO "Evil" in which case Evil is NOT a necessity. If there is no freewill in heaven then obviously a perfect environment can exist with NO freewill 🤔🙄 *SO WHICH IS IT* ???? As for _"moral choices"_ To me and like minded people "Good" and "Evil" are words used to describe movement or points on a reference standard or scale conceptualised by man that is based upon our shared values like human wellbeing, empathy and equality. Whilst "God" is also a man made concept, the percieved whims of this "God" do not reflect these shared values and thus are irrelevant in any discussion of morality. WHY do you think human reference standards must be "Objective" and "God given" in order to function and serve their purpose ??? Let me give you an analogy, perhaps then you will understand. Our metric reference standards for weights, distance ( kilometers, meters, centimetres ect ) was originaly a man made concept, arbitrary with no divine dictate involved. Yet once it becomes accepted and a consensus reached it functions perfectly. A "meter" is not some vague "about this big" concept that varies dependant on culture or God. We can OBJECTIVELY measure things within our metric reference framework 😜 Precisely the same applies to our moral reference standard, it too requires only an agreed upon reference standard in order to function. Can you think of a better standard to aspire and adhere to than one based upon human well-being, empathy , equality and respect ??? Do you really think it preferable to base it upon the knowledge, moral values and ideologies of Iron age people that believe it moral to .. *"Buy your slaves from the heathen nations that surround you"* That a raped girl should be stoned to death for not screaming loud enough along with unruly rebellious children who disobey their parents ( sounds like most teenagers to me ) and the people who gather sticks on the wrong day of the week ??

We are told to love God with all our heart, mind and soul and that we be reconciled unto him... If we do what God hates how yet can we say we love him with all our heart, mind and soul as we were commanded to do. Jesus and the disciples taught the law of Moses and Jesus even said your thoughts should be bridled and controlled. If someone pays your fine and the judge frees you it is not so you can continue the crimes that brought upon you the fine. If you are reconciled to the father of whom you were seperated from because of your sinful actions it hardly makes logical sense that you are reconciled to him to continue in those same sinful actions. We are meant to be dead to sin and not living in it - not following two masters but crucifying the fleshly desires and seeking the spiritual The second coming of Yeshua (The Messiah, Christ, Jesus) is coming near, Please all who say they are of Christ read these verses below and seek the truth; the truth that all transgression of the law is sin and none of the laws of Moses were done away with, the truth that Yeshua (Jesus) himself states that he does not abolish any of the laws of his father (he himself is the word, the law and so to say you abide in him yet not all the law makes ye a liar). Read the verses below that speak of God unchanging and of how we are meant to walk as Christ walks and hence following the commandments of God given to Moses including the vast expanse of Leviticus (of course Yeshua caused for such as blood sacrifices to be finished as he became the atoning sacrifice). If you seek to truly love and serve God, Jesus and the holy spirit in full truth I implore you also seek teachings such as those about Sabbath's from 119 ministries, Jim Staley, Rico Cortes, bill Cloud, brad Scott and others... Another vital and important teaching would also be "Truth or Tradition" by Jim Staley. Any who believe that the words of Paul and others including Yeshua (Jesus) himself change or abolish laws.... I can tell you there are deep contextual understandings required and that many of the verses you have heard have been plucked out leaving the verses that add the necessary context to be sitting in the book - but alongside this there is a deep culture and context in the era the scriptures were written that if you lack the understanding of will cause you to misunderstand the true meaning of the scriptures today with Paul's writing's requiring much of that understanding although if you remember it was false accusations that he was teaching against the laws of Moses and see that it should give you an idea as to how Paul has been misinterpreted by the current churches with many going against the Bible's very verses stating clearly such were false accusations. Remember also that Yeshua (Jesus) actually spoke that even thoughts are counted as to iniquity (sin) and such makes sense if we are to love God with all our heart, mind and soul... We are implored to hold our very thoughts unto his ways and his standards also. May God guide and bless those with open and truth seeking hearts that desire to love him truly to allow them to read these words here and these scriptures and to walk in full repentance as God truly desires 🙏🏽 2 Timothy 2:19 CJB Nevertheless, God’s firm foundation stands, stamped with these words: “The Lord knows his own,” and, “Let everyone who claims he belongs to the Lord stand apart from wrongdoing.” Matthew 7:21-23 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. Matthew 5:17-22 "Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled. Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I say to you, that unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven. "You have heard that it was said to those of old, 'You shall not murder, and whoever murders will be in danger of the judgment.' But I say to you that whoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment. And whoever says to his brother, 'Raca!' shall be in danger of the council. But whoever says, 'You fool!' shall be in danger of hell fire. Mark 9:43‭-47 CJB If your hand makes you sin, cut it off! Better that you should be maimed but obtain eternal life, rather than keep both hands and go to Gei-Hinnom, to unquenchable fire! And if your foot makes you sin, cut it off! Better that you should be lame but obtain eternal life, rather than keep both feet and be thrown into Gei-Hinnom! And if your eye makes you sin, pluck it out! Better that you should be one-eyed but enter the Kingdom of God, rather than keep both eyes and be thrown into Gei-Hinnom, 1 John 2:3-6 Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. He who says, "I know Him," and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked. 1 John 5:2-3 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep His commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome. John 14:15 "If you love Me, keep My commandments. Malachi 3:6 "For I am the LORD, I do not change; Therefore you are not consumed, O sons of Jacob Romans 3:31 Do we then make void the law through faith? Certainly not! On the contrary, we establish the law Romans 6:1-2 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it? James 2:24 You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only. Matthew 5:48 Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect. Mark 7:8-9 For laying aside the commandment of God, you hold the tradition of men-the washing of pitchers and cups, and many other such things you do." He said to them, "All too well you reject the commandment of God, that you may keep your tradition Luke 17:3 ESV Pay attention to yourselves! If your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him Ezekiel 18:30-32 ESV “Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, declares the Lord God. Repent and turn from all your transgressions, lest iniquity be your ruin. Cast away from you all the transgressions that you have committed, and make yourselves a new heart and a new spirit! Why will you die, O house of Israel? For I have no pleasure in the death of anyone, declares the Lord God; so turn, and live.” Messianic Jews (Heb) 6:1‭-‬8 CJB Therefore, leaving behind the initial lessons about the Messiah, let us go on to maturity, not laying again the foundation of turning from works that lead to death, trusting God, and instruction about washings, s’mikhah, the resurrection of the dead and eternal punishment. And, God willing, this is what we will do. For when people have once been enlightened, tasted the heavenly gift, become sharers in the Ruach HaKodesh, and tasted the goodness of God’s Word and the powers of the ‘olam haba - and then have fallen away - it is impossible to renew them so that they turn from their sin, as long as for themselves they keep executing the Son of God on the stake all over again and keep holding him up to public contempt. For the land that soaks up frequent rains and then brings forth a crop useful to its owners receives a blessing from God; but if it keeps producing thorns and thistles, it fails the test and is close to being cursed; in the end, it will be burned. Acts 3:19 ESV Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out Matthew 4:17 ESV From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” 2 Peter 3:9 ESV The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance. Matthew 3:8 ESV Bear fruit in keeping with repentance Revelation 2:5 ESV Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent, and do the works you did at first. If not, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place, unless you repent. Ezekiel 18:21-23 ESV “But if a wicked person turns away from all his sins that he has committed and keeps all my statutes and does what is just and right, he shall surely live; he shall not die. None of the transgressions that he has committed shall be remembered against him; for the righteousness that he has done he shall live. Have I any pleasure in the death of the wicked, declares the Lord God, and not rather that he should turn from his way and live? Colossians 3:5-6 Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. Because of these, the wrath of God is coming. 1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.

What is death? I needed to replace this question, what happens after death?, with the question above, because we cannot know what happens after death unless we know what death is or unless we answer that ontological question first; For if we do not know what death is, then we cannot know what may happen after it. Which is why the first question ought to be: what is death? And not: What happens after death? So: What is death? Here's what i think or briefly: Death is the disintegration of the cells and tissues of the body. Thus if you (or that conscious mental being) cannot be equated with the body, then you cannot die. Moreover you or that conscious mental being cannot be equated with the body; particularly because there is a distinction between the body and that consciousness mental being. And subsequently you cannot die. Therefore you are immortal. Given this, we may answer the second question or this question, what happens after death?, as follows: You live on after the death of the body. Or you become a disembodied soul after the biological death of the biological death. However where you spend the rest of your disembodied state is dependent on whether you believed God's testimony about Jesus Christ when you were in your body or not. This is partly what happens after the death of the biological body. Which is why we exhort you to acknowledge your sins, confess your sins, show remorse, repent, and place your faith in Jesus Christ Bedford you become a disembodied soul. 💖

Do not try to understand the Bible in all... The more you read, the more it becomes real, TRUE and relevant to your problem or question. I also learn by watching these debates!😊🙏

I would like to say that Jacob (in the video) said, "I know nothing" it showed that Jacob is humbled but you gaved him pride by endorsing him by calling him smart.

Not necessarily the same in giving him pride. But rather showing his inconsistency on knowing nothing/ his stance.

@@triplea6174 Oh yeah, that is true. Beautiful God is with his gifts that he gaved us. But I just wanted to point out the thing that people do to each other like endorsing one another is giving pride to one another. Like cliff was saying that no Jacob your smart, but i won't do that because of this verse Galatians 6:3 If anyone thinks he is something, when he is nothing, he decieves himself. This verse sounds awful at first but it relieving.

The way Jacob says he knows nothing was a cop out for his lack of knowledge of the word of God, hence the reason why most of his arguments are based on a personal opinion that stems from himself...this is the same reason why in most of cliffes debates with these students have more questions then rebuttals, so if cliffe debunks a question another silly question pops up

Why do people always say God is supposed to be all loving? When the Bible says quite the opposite regarding his enemies that refuse to obey him and follow after their sinful flesh. He loves those who fully trust in him.. but that doesn't mean they won't experience difficulties in this life.

It's very clear that the argument of an atheist is very weak compare to that of a theist with regards to marality.

I'll elaborate. However, I'll have rework the framework. The atheistic argument for objective moral values and duties is far weaker than the theistic one. So, the elaboration is this. The theistic argument for objective moral values and duties is that there is an transcendent grounding of what IS right and what IS wrong. And the atheistic arguments is that there is no transcendent grounding of what IS right and what IS wrong. However, if one wants to deny that some moral values are, in fact, objective then they can refrain from taking part in the conversation.
