Every student deserves the opportunity to learn, and this talk explores how to give youth offenders a smoother, and more grace-filled transition to everyday living. Re:Think all you know about juvenile delinquents.
An English teacher for over 23 years, in May of 2014, Staples-Farmer earned a Ph.D. in Education from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, studying specifically the culture of teaching and learning in the juvenile justice system to better understand system-involved youth/students and their experiences.
This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at ted.com/tedx

I respect and agree with this prospective as a Juvenile Officer, Non Profit Founder, and a born again Christian that has been redeemed by the grace of God through His son Jesus Christ. This is a mindset that is uncommon amongst Juvenile officers because they don't understand the grace God provides to them. Theses JCO officers simply strive to survive and get check at the end of the month.
